Bellingham is good. Stayed there in 2012. Nice little village, and a reasonable fish and chip van - can't remember what night tho', sorry

I assume you mean CC site Englethwaite Hall. We stopped there for two nights on our way back from Scotland about 4 weeks ago. This is a no-facilities site but is nicely laid out and lovely friendly wardens. It's convenient for Carlisle (we tried to go there on a Saturday but it was so busy with traffic queues everywhere that we gave up and went to Penrith instead, much better) although located in the middle of nowhere. For £12 per night with hook-up it was good value for a CC site.
We stopped at Moffat on our way up to Oban. Stayed at Moffat for 2 nights, one would have been enough, not much to see apart from Moffat Mill (an Edinburgh Woollen Mill super-store) and three other EWM shops. Several eating establishments/pubs.

Yes, I meant Englethwaite Hall, we know it has no facilities, I don't usually use site ones anyway. Been to Moffat before and like the doggy walks but 2 nights at most sites suit us.

Never stayed at the Moffat site as we only stay in Dumfries, if you like basic sites with lovely walks try this one just about 13 miles from moffat and you could stop at Greymares tale this is a stunning walk on a nice day.

Basic is right, went there once, didn't stop.
Couldn't get out of the van, no sign of anyone around , just a barking dog circling the van so after about 10 minutes we left.

Since July 2013 but been camping for 25+ years
Don't be tempted to take the bus from Bellingham to Hexham. The most expensive trip we've ever taken . . . (over £30 for 2 adults & 2 kids return)
