To be honest there are so many I don't know where to start . But in February it will be quiet. I did it back in September but my entire route was 1870 miles from Fife back to fife. Make sure you include Skye, and rather than just following the coast zig zag in and out . Get a big aa road atlas and just explore you will find some amazing placesYes, that’s what we thought Tam. Do you have any suggestions? We like wilderness places.
It will be cold, very cold, and wet/snowing. We are in the south west of Scotland and currently it's 4°, raining, and we have three weather alerts for snow and ice. The NC500 is some 300 miles further north.Has anyone done this in February? any advice please

It might not be deserted but it certainly has less Motor homes going round it in February than JulySorry but asking about doing it on February or indeed any month just makes me laugh.
Do people think this road is deserted at some times of the year ? People do actually live up here in the Highlands all year round. We all don't up sticks in winter and bigger off to Spain

I think you miss understood, I was asking as having never been to the highlands I wanted to make sure that the nc500 would be passable in February not whether or not you would be at home ? glad it made you laugh, maybe a bit of roadside litter picking would be a great winter pass time, saw multiple vehicles throw stuff from windows ( not motorhome I might add ) and the litter and bottles of urine at the side of the road and in lay-bys is unbelievable especially as there have been so few visitors over winter, such a beautiful place should be cared for a little better I think

You are right, lived in the Outer Hebrides for a few years in the late 70s. I used to drive the Highlands and Skye before it was fashionable and called fancy names. Nice and quiet. That is so true !
