Good afternoon
I'm planning a trip with 2 other motorhomes in early May 2018 traveling from Poole to cherbourg and returning home from Roscoff around 28th of May. This is the first time traveling to France so would appreciate any advice on routes /nice aires and campsites by coast /lakes or towns.
In your opinions if weather not so good would traveling to la Rochelle be much better or would we need to go elsewhere.
Thanks
Paul

Reference your last point - the weather. Generally, we reckon the Loire marks a point where the weather improves compared to the UK. Obviously, not always, but that's the yardstick we use.

The south Brittany coast can also enjoy more warmth and sunshine too.

The link below has a map of France that illustrates the AVERAGE annual sunshine hours during a 30-year period 1981 to 2010. Only take it as an indicator, but it might assist your plans.

So yes, all things being equal, La Rochelle should have better weather.
