As well as returning to Highlands End, Eype for the third time next year (details here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...rassic-fields-festival-9-13-july-2020.201356/ ) we are also visiting a quite different part of Dorset with a meet at Norden Farm campsite https://nordenfarm.com/ which has been a Funster favourite in previous years. With walks to Corfe with its castle, shops, bakery, pubs & tea rooms & across the Purbeck Hills, a bus stop outside the campsite to Swanage, Studland Bay & Sandbanks or a trip on the nearby steam train, it’s an excellently located campsite with a rural feel, two shower & toilet blocks, good facilities plus a shower for dogs & a laundry. Campers also have free use of the fishing pond. There are walks & cycle rides direct from the campsite including the Purbeck Way. Interesting places to visit nearby with motorhome friendly parking are Monkey World & Bovington Tank Museum.
This is a relaxed meet where we can all be pitched together if booked in early enough (by end of December) with perhaps some impromptu gatherings under the stars, chats & maybe walks or trips together but nothing organised other than a warm welcome & the friendly company of fellow Funsters if you want it or do your own thing - no pressure! A gentle introduction to other members so ideal for those who haven't met up before & those new to motorhoming & of course it would be lovely to see our regular Funster friends too! :hi5:
Places for this meet on grass campsite pitches with EHU are limited & we have negotiated a 10% early booking discount for Funsters for the duration of this weekday meet if booked by the end of this December.
Arrivals are from midday on Monday 11 May with departures by 11am on Friday 15 May & our meet camping area is in the Pond Field:

Pond Field Right pictured above & Pond Field Left pictured below

As you can see the two parts of the Pond Field are near to one of the toilet & shower blocks, water & waste points & a motorhome service point with views to the hills & down the valley. Back through the farm towards the entrance to the site there is the Farm Shop with a camping section which caters for locals too with lots of local produce & tempting treats :inlove: as well as all the essentials.

The campsite prices for 2020 bookings (increased from 2019 rates currently on their website) are summarised below but 10% early booking (by end of December) discount off booking price for Funsters for the Meet dates - any extra nights or bookings made later are at the full Mid season rate:
Small Pitch - small campervan with no awning - £14.50 plus £3 per adult per night
Single person price £63.00 / two people price £73.80 for 4 nights after early booking discount.

Medium Pitch - small campervan with awning & motorhomes under 7m - £17.50 plus £3 per adult per night.
Single person price £73.80 / two people price £84.60 for 4 nights after early booking discount.

Large Pitch - motorhomes 7m & more - £19.00 plus £3 per adult per night.
Single person price £79.20 / two people price £90.00 for 4 nights after early booking discount.

Pitch price is for a grass pitch with EHU & includes the motorhome, one car & awning or Quest Shelter. No charge for dogs.
Deposit of £25
(non-refundable) is required when booking with balance to be paid at campsite reception on arrival. Children (age 3-15) are £2.50 per night.

To book please call Norden Farm on 01929 480098 (9am-5pm everyday) quoting “Motorhome Fun Pond Field May 2020 Meet” with the following info.:
Full name & emergency mobile number

Arrival and departure dates (Meet - Monday 11 May & departing Friday 15 May 2020)

Do you have prices without EHU?
Hi Lenny - sorry no not for this meet as all the pitches in Pond Field have EHU & are charged accordingly at that busy time of year. Looking at their (2019) pricing page https://nordenfarm.com/tariff/ it doesn't look like there are any cheaper pitch options elsewhere on the campsite for motorhomes in Mid season. Think that the prices (especially with discount) are good for that lovely part of Dorset in May though anyway!

Studland Bay (bus from outside the campsite) with 4 miles of beaches (only naturist at the far end :blusher: ) is one of our favourite places for walking followed by lunch or a cream tea at the National Trust Knoll Beach cafe:

As we will be there during the weekdays & in school term time hopefully we will avoid the crowds & queues.

Looks a great place for a rally. Our plans for next May not fully set and I suspect we will have a visitation from my sister at this time. This means cannot commit but will note it on the calendar.
Thanks

Hi Karen

Thanks for asking, the site is indeed a lovely one.

Our Rob gets married on the 9th, so we may be caught up in the aftermath/ too knackered to move...

Either way I think sadly it has to be a no. :(

Thanks, Karen, a great location for a meet but I've already paid a deposit on a Norwegian fjords cruise with overlapping dates.

Thanks for letting me know about this one. I love Norden Farm. Unfortunately I won't be able to go as I shall be going to the Newbury show and don't want to be away from home (and have to book holiday from work) for a whole week.

Is it possible to only attend for part of the week? And if so we'd be bringing our 4 year old Grandson.

Hi - that would be fine with us but suggest giving them a call on 01929 480098 to make sure that the 10% booking discount applies if less than the 4 nights?

After taking the Purbeck Breezer 40 bus (runs regularly all year) from outside the campsite down to Studland Bay (with a change to Breezer 50 bus in Swanage)

& walking along it to Shell Bay (or bus all the way there instead) there's the £1 (pedestrians) scenic journey via chain ferry http://www.sandbanksferry.co.uk to Sandbanks:

For any keen walkers - it's a great walk along Sandbanks beach all the way to Bournemouth Pier (not far off the seafront to the town) & beyond to Boscombe. The cafe on the edge of the beach at Sandbanks is a handy place for refreshment stop.

From where the chain ferry lands in Sandbanks there is also the ferry (@£7 each return) for Brownsea Island https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/brownsea-island which is owned by the National Trust (no dogs or bicycles allowed) & famous for having red squirrels - another scenic place for walking.

By ferry from Sandbanks Jetty: Brownsea Island Ferries https://www.brownseaislandferries.com/ run from 10am then every half hour throughout the day. Ferries depart Brownsea at 15 mins past and 15 mins to each hour. Please note there is no 1pm or 1:15pm service. All visitors, including National Trust members, need to purchase tickets (cash only). Last boats leave the island at 5pm.

Take a picnic or enjoy treats from the NT Villano Cafe on the Island which has a view of Poole harbour:
