I'm a newbie
I want to add my brother and sister-in-law as named drivers (temporary additional drivers) on my Campervan insurance policy. They are visiting from Australia for a couple of months later this summer and plan to use the van to tour the UK and Europe. They have never held UK driving licences and I'm really struggling to find any insurance company that will even bother to consider quoting for this....as soon as I mention that they're non-residents I get a 'computer says no...' response!
Does anyone have any recent experience of this issue or details of a company that might be willing to provide this type of insurance?

Try asking the MH rental companies who they use, because they must rent to Aus residents with Aus licences.

Put my brother as a named driver on my Caddy van insurance. No prolem. He is resident of Ukraine. He came here when he got out of Kiev.
Put my address.

hundreds of Aussies come over each year, buy an older van, insure and run it for an extended trip then sell on. So there must be firms that do it.

I'm on 2 x cars of my friend in Devon. Both know I have a spanish licence.

Surely the best thing to do is call your insurance provider 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sorry for any confusion or if I've not explained the situation fully. I have called my existing provider and they can't / won't add additional them as named drivers because they don't have UK passports......nor can any other insurance providers by the look of things.
Very frustrating!

Now I feel your pain. Seems a lame excuse to me. Have you tried one of those instant insurance companies that I see advertised and give you 28 days insurance. They could just insurance it via that way and drive under that policy 🤞🏻

I know they are usually on the expensive side, but have you tried an insurance broker?

pre covid had Aussie mate visit put him as named driver on car with NFU , but have been with them for years , they can be a bit selective tho with new prospects .

What has that to do with it? I have a sis in law ,her husband son and grandsons who don't have any either.
Sorry, I should have said they don't have UK licenses and are not UK residents...
