Hope the old unpleasantness hasn't kicked off again

Seriously long may these old workhorses be kept airworthy.

Hi Tofo,
If you fancy a little jaunt down the A13 and if it's of interest, they should be flying over Southend on Sunday (tomorrow) and landing at Southend at about 14.35. They will take off again at 16.20.

They may also be back at Southend on Thursday and next weekend but CHECK the local media or social media because this is all weather dependent.

This is a unique event and never to be repeated. The Canadian Lanc' is unlikely to ever fly to the UK again.

I would have given my right arm to see them, especially as my flying club is based on the airport. Alas, I'm half way up a Swiss mountain with the MoHo at the moment!

Liked your pics tho.
Cheers
James

Luckily I live close to Biggin hill and the pair have been over my house a few times this week, a truly beautiful sight, those eight merlins going over at 500ft makes me have goose pimples, may they long continue to fly In memory of the aircrew that didn't return,

Sadly I won't be able to as
its no 1 granddaughters 4th birthday
And she's been counting sleeps till barbie( dolls) arrival

So I'll wait camera in hand
hoping to get them if they pass over later afternoon
Depending where they'll be next

I'm assuming they may hang around southend for the clacton air show
Next week

What a deep rumbling those 8 merlin engines make
Must of made the ground shake and vibrate
with a heavily laden squadron going out on a raid

Found this on y tube lancaster landing at southend

Sat outside, pub in P'boro, throaty roar made me wonder... indeed they did a low pass, in formation, overhead. Presumably heading back to Linc's. They seem to be criss crossing the country.
Fabulous sight, even better racket.

Shame they’re only coming North of the Border once :( I remember going to Prestwick Airshow (HMS Gannet) as a pimply youth in the early eighties, first time I’d seen Conorde.

Four gigs on Sunday the best of which was Sywell Airshow.

They're always buzzing my house (Rutland/Lincs) the Dekota wasn't at 500 feet when it went over my house last week!

There are some very good pictures of the same two aircraft (taken at the same time) on this photography forum:

A very good site it is too. I'm a BIG Olympus E-System fan!
Got my M10 two weeks ago, bit of learning curve to start with but starting to get the hang of it. Ordered a 75 - 300 lens today which should be good for wildlife etc.

I'm still using the bigger kit as I have some expensive glass. I have toyed with getting the E-M5 though. On the bigger kit the 70-300 is a great long lens with macro tendencies. I'm sure the OM-D lens is even better
