Hi,
I attempted to jump start our 2010 Ducato (40 MAXI 130 M-JET) yesterday with a NOCO GB70. The van dash is completely dead on ignition key turn and so I was hoping the NOCO would do the job of jump staring the van. The instructions were carefully followed but after the power on of the GB70, the boost LED flashed, there was a regular clicking sound in line with the boost led flashing and only the first red led of the GB70 charge cluster was illuminated. This seemed like a diagnostic error but I cannot find anything in the documentation to advise on this.
The only information I could find, related to the GB40, was from this website:
NOCO GB40 Problems – Not Charging, Clicking Noises and More
"The “Noco Genius Boost GB40 Clicking Noise” issue is another frequently reported concern. It normally happens when you connect your GB40 to a battery that is in an extremely poor condition, usually caused by sulfation, a dead cell or severe internal damage. The GB40 will start making a clicking sound and will refuse to go into Charge Mode...This does unfortunately mean you won’t be able to jump start your car and you will most likely need a new battery."
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have moved forward and already purchased a replacement battery and am also going to have the van electrics checked, as the starter battery discharged in a week and I don't want to be in the same position with the new battery. There is a significant drain from somewhere and the van is in covered storage so no sun to the solar panel.
