Been off grid for 4 nights . 1 solar panel two batteries. Showing 12 v on panel.
Tv on last night have we just depleted the batteries how can you tell if its ok or there is a problem. Full sunshine all weekend.

If it’s only 12 volts you have just under 50% capacity left and shouldn’t discharge anymore if it’s a lead acid battery. If it’s been as sunny where you are as it has been here I’m surprised that your panel has not been keeping the battery topped up, unless you are using an inverter. Obviously it would also depend on the panel size.

I agree with above 12v the battery is discharged as far as you should go.
In full sun with only 12 v in battery your solar panel should be showing about as much charge as it can give.

A lot depends on what else is running in the background ... fridge, lights, fans etc. can all use power.

You need to measure the voltage from he solar panel to make sure its working.
You should be getting up to 21V from the solar panels at the controller and 13.5 volts going out to the batteries

it switched itself off . Then came back on when the sun came up. Showing full now im thinking its just the tv being on quite alot. The batteries are just two years old the panel probably 7 years old.

I wouldn't expect it to be the solar panel but there is lots of crap batteries with fancy stickers.
