on the basis it's connected correctly and has a switch in the circuit , luckily I can do the installation in my Hymer through the wardrobe and it will all be hidden

I just use my phone!
Those eBay ones say lights up automatically at night, I wouldn't want anything that has any night-time light showing.

I have a pull cord switch for my over-cab bed light. The pull on the end of the cord is a little cylindrical clock with its own backlight once a button is pressed.
