Hi all. I’m looking around to buy a spare wheel and tyre for my 2012 Arto 79R before I take delivery. Can anyone tell me the spec of the wheels?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris

If you take off whatever wheel trim there is you should find a code that tells you the spec of the wheels, just quote this and a wheel person should think you know what your are talking about.

You could try a “wanted” add here on Fun as some people take off steel wheels to fit alloys.

If I had access to the vehicle then I’d do that. I don’t get it for another 2 weeks though so was hoping it might be a standard size.

Most likely is but may/will depend on if it’s a light or heavy chassis so 15” or 16” I am not up on Arto so wouldn’t guess in case you bill me for the mistake? jongood should have a better idea than me.

It will be the Maxi chassis so 6 x 16 130pcd and if you really want I can sell you the genuine article as Ive changed mine to Alloys a couple of years ago. £50 bare rim or £75 with an OK for a spare tyre, collect from Shrewsbury anytime to suit yourself.

Jon

Thanks Jon. That sounds great (with tyre ideally as long as it’s not too old (it’ll probably sit in my garage for years before it gets used!).

Collection is an issue though as I’m in Nottingham. If you can give me an idea of six\ze and weight, I can look into sending a courier for it?

I am also one of the N&B group and can vouch that although small they are knowlwledgable and helpful.

There is a UK owners club hosted on here

It is not very active - because we do not have many problems with them - which says a lot:D

But if one has a problem one of the lads will be along.

Just took hold of a 1999 flair,
Unreal build quality In fairness, cab a bit faded compared to body,as fibreglass obviously compared to alum body,
Anybody else have this and will it buff up ,
And what would I pay for alloys for it approx,
Regards
Mick

Personally wouldn't bother with alloys as some nice stainless trims look the biz and last forever unlike alloys, build quality (y)what chassis is it on?

Yes the fibreglass will buff but will need a polishing machine if it has been neglected as it will be hard work by hand, if you have not machine polished before you need to be careful and keep it moving and keep it cool.

I will just add to this that the "Owners club" is closed to new members, possibly as Geoff suggests there are so few problems people don't need to ask questions ;)

Nice (y) Looks like the bonnet has possibly been painted at some time and with the stickers on possibly not much you can do with that other than a light cut and polish by hand I would say, not much to worry about on these old girls but check that the roof joint to the cab front is OK, they usually have a tape over the joint and depending what it is it may need renewing.

Thanks for that ,
Saw that tape ok ,must double check it

Your right about bonnet,
Previous owner damaged it so got it re painted,
But obviously sticks out now like a sore thumb,
Will see can I cut and polish the rest of front cab,if not a re spray I presume,
Might go different colour with cab altogether,

Somebody did a Clou liner blue front and back and it looked errr shall we say different, I would keep it as close to standard as possible but maybe i'm boring ;)

It’s on a fiat 2.8 with only 73000 genuine miles and timing belt and water pump done at 69k,
Drives along at 60 no bother on motor way,
It’s weighted at 3850 so I have to go off and get test done to be able to drive it here unfort,
Will it do 28 mpg if driven right !!!

Sorry don't really know what it will do to the gallon but I imagine 28 would be close ;)

Does the diesel heat the water? the Alde does (y)

Yes ,
My brother got the alde to heat the water ,
He thinks the alde heating system has been drained of water and liquid that they use ,
That’s why previous owner who has passed RIP put in the diesel heater we think,

Would have been easier to just refill the Alde, maybe there is an issue with it, don't forget it must have Glycol fluid in before you try to heat water.

Thanks for that ,
Really appreciate your time and experience,
Will get my brother to check it out fully,
Thanks again
