Are there any funsters with knowledge of the Arto 79 motorhome.
We are looking at one this weekend and would love to hear ,good ,bad or ugly about this model.
Have the importers got a good reputation for service etc this is really important to us.
Any views or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation

Niesmann + Bischoff

its + , not and. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Nice van usual German build quality
But beware there are the usual horror stories about the newer ones as with a lot of van these days unfortunately. If you can find an older one you'll probably have a lot less hassle.
Think there's a owner on here who he sent his back at less than a year old because of all the problems not good at £100k plus price tag.
If you do a search I'm sure you'll find it.

We have an Arto 74 LE GB. 2010 build on a 3 ltr fiat ducato engine.
We bought it 2 years ago. It was 18 months old.
It feels solidly built but we did have a number of issues, some of which were carried out under warranty. The dealer, only wanted to give 6 months but we insisted on 12.
I think every motorhomes have their problems, not many problems we had could be put down to construction, most were parts failing from other suppliers.

So things that come to mind. The shower tray was cracked, a known problem and was found when I picked it up thanks to this forum. Replaced under warranty
The Truma unit failed ( new pcb ) warranty
Heiki roof vent broken. Warranty
Fridge wouldn't start on gas ( friend blew dust out of the gas jet all ok)
McPherson strut replaced under warranty ( nearly £1,000 )
Rear lights intermittent. Recently traced it back to the wiring loom connectors. This was fixed by local auto electrician £140
Tap in sink kept coming loose from the day we bought it, after numerous attempts to tighten it. I took the van back to the factory last week as we were near koblenz ( they are made in Polch) they replaced the tap at a cost of €150.
Had to replace all 3 batteries in the first year.

Regarding the dealer, I was very disappointed by the salesman and handover but I think he has now gone back to selling Audis. They did the warrant work but as they are so far away I now use local people.
Good luck let me know if you need any more info

We almost bought an older one but were put off by clutch burning out stories. Probably nothing to it but it put us off a nice 2009 model.

If you were trying to describe one, how would you say + ?

I always struggle with the name, since meeting soaringman at Chester, we now call them 'nice man with biscuits'

Thanks Coops for the biscuits, but we now have no chance of recalling the real name when needed

+ is spoken as plus

I think Bischoff can't have put as much money in as the other feller :thumb:
