Hi we have to pick up a wine order from Carrefour Calais tomorrow (Saturday) but our crossing isn't til Sunday lunchtime.

Anyone got a recommendation for an aire near Calais? We will be travelling up from Neufchâtel en Bray.

We use Arques 50.746780, 2.301438
upload_2016-7-1_19-21-38.jpeg

It's outside of a small municipal campsite Beausejour
locked at night about 9pm unlocked 7am cost 3.5 euros ,water extra
it's beside a couple of lakes /reservoirs.
upload_2016-7-1_19-26-54.jpeg

,just behind the aire is a small water park ,bit overgrown when we were there 2 weeks ago.
30 miles from Calais

If using satnav put in co-ords 50.744920, 2.308165 or it may try to take you across a lane which is only a footpath

Hard to call it the nicest, but we like Montreuil sur mer, the town is lovely, aire has been refurbished and is more than nice enough and free :)

Gravelines, always use it, I know it's north of Calais but not by much, lovely and quite and a Super U near by for your last minute fuel. :)

Thanks all for the suggestions. We are going to go to montreuil for lunch, then onto Calais to pick up our daughters wedding fizz then spend the night at a France passion site as recommended by pm.

What would I do without you all? Should of been asking for suggestions all week! Lol.

We have stayed there a few times(y)

The restaurant connected to the hotel on site is pretty good too.
Sorry that's the one I meant.

We stayed on the Calais Aire by the port at end of June. Will soon be gone as area being redeveloped, so vans are nearer the sea.

We always stay there on last night. The good people of Calais need our custom, we find a good place for lunch then frites from the stall later.

At the moment Star Wars art installation along the prom.

The aire was quite full and there was no trouble at al.

Is the parking area at Cite de Europe easy to find? - we'll be arriving next Wednesday off a late ferry at approx 1 a.m. so don't want to be faffing around for too long!

Easy to find, assuming you are deboarding on the left side of the arrivals areas which is the normal side you will exit on Avenue de France. Stay in the right lane and take the first exit on the right which will be signposted Cite du Europe. At the roundabout talk second exit (heading left) On to Boulevard de Europe, next roundabout second left onto Boulevard de Kent and the motorhome parking is on the left by the police station.

Google maps shows the route quite clearly.

We found Cite de Europe OK and had a very quiet overnight there a couple of weeks ago.
Sadly we are now back at Calais homeward bound and are over nighting at the aire along side the port. There are about 30 Mohos here so it's clearly operational albeit a little makeshift with the development work going on at the original site just behind. The frite vans are still here and doing a roaring trade!

Citie Europe is also next to the coach park if you miss the signs. Okay for an overnight, not so sure I'd stay longer.

We're fans of Wissant, about 15mins down the coast. Short walk into nice small town, but it's a holiday favourite with the French so often busy. The aire, on the main road, fills up quickly so try to be there mid-afternoon at the latest. And DON'T park in the bus bays (the cars parked there are the bus drivers). Oh yeh, no water there, which is a shame but there is a waste drop.
