Just looking
Exp
Newbie
when originally advertised the van had a bike carrier on it which seemed to be bolted to the subframe and looked like an extended bumper with bikes on top.

Please does anyone know where i can get one made or have ideas on design, i think im going to go for one early part 2015 as i dont want any holes in the back if the van for a carrier to be fitted

Did you not ask why it wasn't present when you bought it?

You can always fit a tow bar and purchase tow bar mounted rack you can remove when not needed .

I imagine towbar would be costly, as the only thing i wanted to do is carry a bike

can you post the original picture?

Where you type and to the left of post reply see upload a file elect that then select a photo from pc then post

That looks like it's for a motorbike, bit heavy duty for cycles. There must be mounting holes to show you where it was connected?

Cant see any, i am only looking for pedal bikes so i can make it out of lighter guage me thinks

OTT for a bike..just fit one on back wall of van?

Didnt want to stick holes through the back, but you may be right. Im trying to do it cheap as chips at moment

Fair enough...look around for a used rack? I would be more concerned with axle load and payload. an aluminium rack lightweight

Just looked on gumtree and ebay and a good few second hand racks available

Like this but lighter gauge? Fixes into chassis extensions.

Mick Parkinson in Preston manufactures them. He fitted the extension rails to our van.

not much change out of £500 for new one fitted
