I'm sure I paid around 700 + for that journey about 5yrs ago...it was two single way fares as I wasn' sure of a return date when I left...
That was for a van under 6m..
Not cheap that' for sure... your initial post indicates you got a better deal on an earlier crossing ??
Andy.

We have always travelled south to Dover to get a ferry (500+miles) as it is still much cheaper including the fuel costs and we would never put our dog in their kennels for 17 hours either !!

We have a booking at 580 but that was booked as soon as they were available for the dates we needed
We were later booking last year and price was simmillar
Generally it worth it for us due to the time saved driving south but seems particularly steep at present.
No idea if price fall if they are not filling the ship but in the summer it seems to run full most of the time.
We have struggled in the past when we had to changing a booking
All down to supply and demand as ever

Best I managed on that crossing was £165 for a single back from Europe without meals. Only booked a couple of weeks ahead and that was in September 2016. Tried it again this year for a return in September and it’s well into the £800 bracket. I did my sums and the Hull Zeebrugge crossing works out a whole lot less and only marginally more than the cost of my run down to Dover.

We just got back this morning from the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry, went out last Thursday, 2 people and a car, £265, so not bad, especially as we live near Newcastle.
Fish and Chips at Amsterdam port beautiful yesterday.
