Evening all, a few daft questions now that we have our new home... I've googled, read the literature, even found out another identical van for sale and still I'm challenged.

Lets start with an easy one. Awnings; Its wind out and I have the pole for that but should I have some poles / legs to support it once out or are these integrated into the awning? See, I said they were daft questions...

Second on to the main control panel and the swivel mount below. Is the mount for a tv -somehow- and what about the sockets on the panel? one is 240v, one a threaded aerial socketand a third I'm unsure about? Its an odd place for a 240v socket so I presume its a tv point

I think the main sunroof vent had a damaged thread to the crank mechanism as it struggles to shut tight or open up? Is this something easilt repairable, hopefully?

Otherwise, we love our new home and can't wait to get out and about. Finally a home I can stand up in...

Thanks in advance for your patience.

One at a time so I don't lose track....
The awning legs are folded into the large front rail of the awning and pivoted at the outer ends. .
Just study the rail, you'll figure out how they come out.

Bless......Wind out your awning and the legs are just behind the main panel coming off the truck. They are normally tucked in and spring loaded.
Sockets are 12v Cigar and Sky type connector (F type is it?) and 240v
The Swivel is designed for your tv that would have been fitted at some point when it was new. It may be redundant now
Front top sun roof panel ...the parts are readily available from Leisure Depot on line

Hope it helps a little?

i cursed my first vans previous owner for not leaving the poles in the garage. two months later watching a van arrive and winding out their awning my missus pointed out that " they seem to have built in poles! why don't we get one like that?" i get reminded constantly!!

Be careful with the awning legs, they can be damaged if forced the wrong way when lowering them
New Pivots are available if needed.

Wow, thanks all. I think that answers everything. If it wasnt so windy at the w/end I might have had a chance to look inside the awning. Thank you.
I'll need to get a hella 12v plug from somewhere and make up a coax to connect the TV to the sky type connector? We do have a 12v tv so I guess I could remove that fixing and fit a more appropriate substitute in its place? I'll have to have a look around at brackets?
Good to know the front roof can be repaired. There was a drip in the torrential rain so I checked to see if it was shut tightly. I realised that it was faulty then. I'll look at leisure depot next.
One presumably good point is that all 3 roof vents were replaced prior to collection as they were not in good condition. I did wonder why they all looked in such good condition.
And I thought I knew quite a lot having had caravan and a campervan. At least I can stand up in this one :roflmto:
Thanks again, all superstars. (y)

As above, but if you want to leave the awning out as a rain canopy that's fine, but lower one awning leg by a foot to allow rain to run off rather than collect.
If it collects it can destroy the awning.
I made that mistake in Spain. Torrential rain and canopy level. There must have been 20 to 30 litres in the sagging canopy.
Luckily I got away without damage.

After watching that youtube link it is a tv mount. I'll have to explore it but it is a handy spot to store one. I cant imagine its easily viewable from the rear bed but it'll do for the front seating for evenings and wet days...
Thanks for your help

TV Point.
Yes, it is. The strange socket will be a 12v power socket.
It looks like it's a DIN/HELLA type.
Easy to buy and fit if you have a 12v TV.
One of these although there are others with USB or other type fittings. I guess for me, I just need to wire in 12v cable from the TV which will be easy enough. Intersting I could use a USB charger from it for phones when the TV isnt on. There's also a socket above the hob, I'll look closer but it seems to be the same design from memory. Thanks (y)

I see it is / was a standard feature TV mount. I may use the pole its attached to but replace it with a better (hopefully) TV bracket given the TV points are on teh main control board just above it. Thanks (y)

Ah, it's on a pole, I thought it was attached to the corner where the fridge is....

I find this type of plug convenient. It fits both ordinary 12V Cigarette-lighter sockets and DIN/Hella sockets. The red plastic bit simply pulls off to fit the Hella socket

Yeah, I think my excitement got the better of me. There are a couple of issues that unfortunately, it needs to go back for but I have to say, no issues other than some inconvenience. It was a lot to take in in an hour handover so I guess 50 / 50. I'm sure we'll be sorted before too long, just a pity I have lots going on and few spare weekends to address things. Thanks

How far are you from Taunton? If your not too far I will go through the van with you, I have no issue if you want to video me going through the control panel/ heating controls etc as people do forget.

Thank you for your kind offer. I may well take you up on it.
We're actually in Berkshire. This home was the best matched and on arrival, the whole site and this van seemed well presented. It was the 'nicest' van we found... we looked at lots and nothing local ticked all the boxes. I believe they'll send a driver to collect it to take back to their outsourced engineers to resolve a couple of issues; the Sky View (I think it's a SEITZ) roof crank mech has failed, and a few other silly items. Otherwise it seems to have been well looked after. It certainly drives far better than I anticipated. It has a GASLOW conversion to learn too.

Thanks (y) -Typically I looked at these but bought a couple of the Hella type... They'll do for now.

with the seitz crank up type rooflight you need to gently lift the dome as you turn the crank or they get over stressed and fail as only plastic. Also when closed, they leave an air ventilation gap as standard. Dont try over cranking to force it closed as again it will damage the mechanism

The tv mount is designed to slide out and swivel round to view from the opposite end of the van. it does however latch when closed into travelling position. It has a standard VESA mount with four bolt holes at 75mm square

a standard cable can be purchased pre made with an aerial plug one end and F plug the other for the tv aerial. Dont forget to turn on the amplifier to get the tv aerial to pick up stations. the amplifier is generally hidden in the top of a wardrobe or high level cupboard. but getting a good signal everywhere is at best haphazard.

Many of us now use an amazon firestick to view tv over the internet. either connected to your phone via wifi or using a mifi. this also allows internet access when travelling

So much information, thank you. Is it likely to be a Seitz sky view? That's my best guess.

This is the TV mount. The latch is broken so a struggle to use. Something else to replace  How would a VESA attach? I'm sure I could bolt it on somehow. Now to look out for that aerial lead.
Perhaps I should swap out the Hella socket at some point? Ooh, an amplifier? who knew. I'll have to look for that too. I'm not sure what to do about TV viewing. In our camper I had a magnetic aerial that I stuck thru the sunroof. Aside from retuning for the area, it did quite well on freeview. If not, a DVD it was.

Thanks for the info.. All much appreciated. I'm soaking it all up like a giant sponge.
