Waiting to load onto ferry on way to Italy!

Snarl up on M6 delayed us but who cares-we put the kettle on!

Newbie mistakes so far: forgetting to switch fridge to 12v & not closing hook up flap-not too major...yet!

I usually manage to leave a locker open so it pours its contents out, despite so called check list. For some reason I don't always seem to shut the loo door properly and it waits until I am committed to an area where I can't stop before swinging open. I am blaming the catch and have here a replacement to fit when I get her back from getting the manifold made and test done. Enjoy Italy

A Bit
Personally I have never done either of those, but then again I haven't actually got a Motorhome yet so it's not that surprising really if I want to experience motor homing at the moment I put a bed on my drive with an armchair in front of it then sit in the chair making engine noises with both hands in front of me, still hopefully one day they will actually make the one I have ordered and my son can bring his bed back in from the drive!

Needless to say I am really envious of your Italy trip and hope you love it.

Hello and welcome from West Midlands.
Not sure when the stage of being a newbie has been passed but we still do all this stuff. I've also been known to turn back an hour after setting out as I've forgotten to bring medication on one occasion and my wallet on another.

Well 18 degrees in Lucerne!

Hope there's some snow in those distant alps!

Had a hiccup with the trauma water boiler today-wouldnt light this morning but fine now?

Final update, arrived in Livigno & set up.

Chausson did well on the alpine roads, campsite decent-dont know why I worried about the journey-easy!

Added pic of vereina road train as well-a bit tight but got there!20170326_121435.jpg20170326_135818.jpg

Hi Rob missed your post over the weekend I would have suggested you visit mount Pilateus on the outskirts of lucerne.
It's fantastic up the top off the mountain.

Well 18 degrees in Lucerne!

Hope there's some snow in those distant alps!

Had a hiccup with the trauma water boiler today-wouldnt light this morning but fine now?

Just looking at your pic of the road train, is that similar to the Euro tunnel?, never been on it cuz I get claustrophobia but imagined it's like your train pic,?
Have a wonderful time

Just got home after 2400 miles & a fantastic trip!

Van performed perfectly with no issues.

We really get motorhoming now after several different stops on aires & campsites - that ability to take your own space wherever you fancy & having amazing experiences along the way!

Bit gutted putting the van away tonight-want to get back over the channel again!

Now, gonna get to work on some more upgrades & planning next trip!
