Picking our motorhome up next weekend and looking for some local sites around Northwest over the next few weekends to have some fun and meet people who can point us in the right direction over a beer or two.

Hi and welcome the caravan club site at Chester is a nice site and would be ideal for your first nights away.

Welcome to the madhouse!
Try Netherwood House near Waverton just outside Chester on the A41 towards Whitchurch. Bus into Chester stops just outside return Taxi is less than £10; A 10 minute walk along the towpath at the bottom of the site takes you to the Cheshire Cat good beer and food.
Or you could overnight at the Little Roodee car park just below the Castle.

In Cheshire there's:

CCC site at Delamere Forest - plenty of good bike tracks, and about 20 mins drive from Chester with MH parking available at the Wrexham Road Park'n'Ride and the Little Roodee in the town, near to the race course.

Manor Wood Caravan Park, Coddington - further south and a bit more rural, not far from Chester, Wrexham, Nantwich, Whitchurch.

Further afield Llangollen has a goodly variety of things to do - there's a couple of sites within reach of the town.
