Hi all, ex campers and caravanners here searching for the ultimate dream which for us will be to see more of the world facilitated by our travelling home. We’ll be reaching out to the Funsters for advice, support and friendship as we get closer to fulfilling the dream which will be a year or two away children, finances and health-willing.

Hello and welcome, we started researching and also hiring a couple of vans a few years before we finally purchased. I had previosly had a couple of vans, John had not.
Was in the good old days when you could go to dealers and crawl all oer the inside of the vans. Right from the start we were upfront and told them we would not be buying for a couple of year, with one exception everyone was helpful, willng to answer our questions, opened vans to let us check out the insides and how they might work for us.
Had our first van for 5 years only down side was that it had no external access storage.
Enjoy your research we did.

eight years in theory, a newby in practice!!!
:welcome4: Welcome to the madhouse. We spent two years on the forum before feeling confident enough to part with some seriously hard earned cash. We've done our homework well and are well pleased with our choice of van.
Perfect for us in every way(y)Thanks to all the Funsters for allowing us to pick their brains

Welcome to the fun :drinks:

We had a detailed five year plan which included stuffing up the pension pot, digging a hole out of corporate life, and researching online plus visiting moho retailers and also talking to moho owners whilst we were working through our plan. Now the plan is complete and we just need freedom to continue our exploration of our glorious island. Enjoy your planning too :)

I'm a newbie
Hello :xThumb: and welcome to the Funsters who are a fantastic, friendly community. We, too, took 2 years of researching before we purchased our 'dream'. Just one bit of advice though, we bought a motorhome which has a garage that goes across the width of the van which has proved invaluable as you do not realise how much storage you require when going on long trips. Enjoy the research, the time will come round quicker than you think.

First tip: Never plan anything! Unseen forces always seem to thwart most of them.......like Covid has for so many on here😢
When the time does come, choose your van, buy it and GO...anywhere. Don't "plan" it....wing it!😁

Couldn't you get a motorhome while you're doing your five year plan? otherwise, to my way of thinking, you're wasting five years of adventures.
