Hi all, I've just bought my first motorhome, a twin axle autotrail Arapaho. As a kid my parents had many motorhome a and I've seen some fantastic places, so thought my son would enjoy it as much as I did. I have a small problem though and hopefully someone can help, all the electrics work, 240 and 12 volt when static, but the moment we start to drive the 12v switches off, nothing at all, has. Anyone got any ideas.
Many thanks
Brent

Hi yes it's normal, something to do with safety, ours does it and it's a pain sometimes.

Thanks chaser, it is a pain as we have a 12v air con unit that would be great on the move. It just seems really strange, I don't remember any of my parents past campers doing it. Is there any way to override it

Hi from East Sussex and :welc:
I think the only thing you can do is to wire a suitably fused 12v socket directly from the leisure battery. I had this on my AT Tracker and found it very usefull. (y)

Hiya Brent and welcome.

Motorhomes used to be as rare as hen's teeth in Essex, but over the last few months, we've had encouraging membership of MHF in the county.

Enjoy your trip and if I see you on the A127, I'll give you a wave!

James

PS, My 12v shuts off on the move too.
