hi first motorhome and first problem i have a fiat ducato and the toilet cubicle has a cassette toilet i have looked outside for hatch to empty but there is not one but a tank right underneath do i empty it from there and how do i fill it sorry for this should have got it explained but long journey to get it and wanting to get home thank

Obviously I can not say for sure, but can just say this...
Its one of two scenarios, On that model and at that age, it must be a casette toilet. Presumably you have a bathroom and shower room? on the outside of the van there must be an access hatchto the casette. a small door about 10-12 inchs square.
If not,
Is it a casette that can be accessed from the front of the toilet?
What you describe is what is found on RVs (normally) where by you hook up a pipe and empty in to a elsan point. Highly unlikely that your van has this but nevertheless anything is possible in the world of motorhomes.
Are you sure you are not looking at the grey water dump when you refer to the tank? some pics would be really simple to clear up the problem and like many, im intrigued by your system now.

how to fill it.
1) drop trousers
2) sit or stand in front of it
3) gottit, hee hee
now if you mean the water to flush then I suspect it is an electric flush and takes water from the main tank. I expect someone with the same model will drop by any min.

toilet
hi sorry not being back to mutch stuff to get for motorhome right its
electric flush no hatch at back or sides but looks like toilet is on waste
tank as i see a lever to pull under the van so i think i need a portable
waste tank does that sound right thanks
