Caravan since 1970, motorhome or RV since 1999 then back to a caravan in 2017.
We currently have a 37 inch flat screen TV with no internal tuner in the lounge with a smaller one (with Freeview) in the bedroom. We have a (very) expensive Sky set up so that Hil can watch Fox and the card comes with us in the RV so we have exactly the same set up when we are away.

Our next setup, MH or caravan, is unlikely to have satellite.

I have been toying with leaving Sky and have looked at various Freesat and Freeview boxes but the TV has now developed a fault and so I feel the decision is becoming more urgent.

I THINK that we want a 39/41 inch curved screen with both tuners, ability to pause and record and really good picture quality for less than £1,000 (£500 would be better).

Any and all suggestions welcomed.

More than toes wet now!
Any particular reason why you want a curved screen?
Personally, think they're a bit of a fad like 3D screens which are a dying breed in mainstream TV's nowadays.

I can see you have a big van so that size TV would be acceptable. Not so in our van but we have a 24inch freeview and we use freesat . Don't use freeview much as we can record 2 program while watching a 3rd with our Humax foxsat hdr.

OK then, any recommendations for curved or flat screens and @Welsh girl this new TV is for our house not the RV but diolch yn fawr anyway.

We always used to buy Sony TVs. However our last one bought about 6 months ago was a Samsung and it gives a brilliant picture. Most of Which's best buy TVs are now Samsung.

We bought a flat screen because it seemed to us that you had to be very close to the screen (less than 6') to get any benefit from the curved ones.

We got a 49" smart tv with full HD and 4000k picture for about £650 from memory.

As a possible option for you as it has both Freesat and Freeview and is on run-out (I believe) therefore discounted by £100.

We have the Samsung 49 inch too. Really pleased with it and appreciate the extra picture size after our old Sony 32 inch.
Modern flat screen slim TVs though do need the addition of a sound bar and sub woofer.
