Wonder if if sounds like a "real" motorbike.

I must admit that I don't understand the current obsession with "bobber" bikes. As a kid there was a similar word for a toilet function and I think most bobbers look like s**t.

I don't understand most current obsessions in bikes or elsewhere.

The sheer beauty of that Thruxton is it's apparent simplicity, functional. But most bikes today, "it's got a 7 inch TFT display". "It has an app". Wow, terrific.

Or it's got 4 bhp more than last year's. But last year's had over 120 for a touring bike.

Same with car adverts, they all show a knobhead twisting a knob and becoming a super hero driver with all the women panting for him.

The one thing I've never understood about the Wing is that it is a touring bike but is geared for 135mph. It revs too high at moderate speeds. A much taller gear would have made motorway cruising more pleasant even though it would probably only manage about 115/120 in top.

The one thing I don't like about the Wing is that it's a touring bike but is geared for 135mph in top. I would have preferred a much taller set of gears, more like an overdrive which would give a top of about 120 but much lower revs at motorway cruising speeds.

This, I believe is one of the most beautiful bikes on the planet. Saw it at Sinshiem Technical Museum two years ago. The little petrol driven moped thingy is ok as well.

I think that the choice of style of motorcycles is probably the biggest it's ever been

We all have different tastes (thankfully) but I dont see much difference between the this & the previous thruxtons from the modern triumph factory - all are relatively low power & heavy

I'm sure it's a good bike, most mainstream nanufacturers make great bikes these days, but sorry, I can't get excited about this model
