Hello Keith and I are new to motorhoming. We bought a peuguot Talbot Autosleeper, old but beatifully formed, and love it. Found this site while looking for silver screens. Going to Spain through France in January and thought we might need them to keep warm.
Cheers Anita

Hi Guys,

Hope this is the first of many adventures.

Welcome.

Steve.

And you think yours is old...:ROFLMAO:

Age isn't important if you're young at heart to enjoy it.

Hi Anita and Keith, :welcome: to Motorhome Fun:thumb: You will need silver screens it gets very cold in France in January, we go on the 8th, we have gone the same date the last couple of years, but this year we had snow all the way through France. Although we do carry snow chains we never needed to use them, the deepest was about 6''. So make sure you have plenty of Water with you, as most places turn it off to stop it freezing. Might see you on route ::bigsmile: Bob.

anxious now

Thought we might expect snow entering Spain but didn't anticipate through France. Heading for Biarritz then Burgos and Madrid. Keep calling it an adventure but don't want a scary one?

Hi, Anita. this year was a bad one, we just had cold and ice the year before.::bigsmile: But this year was snow until 20 miles from Biarritz, and we pulled in the Aire and thought we would have a couple of days there, and met people coming back from Spain and Portugal and they were going home, they should have been out until the end of March.:cry: And as Biarritz was mainly good weather we stayed for 5 weeks..........:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: But we did have a hurricane in that time.:Smile:

We will be heading that way this year, we will be going with Norfolk Line on the 8th Jan and coming home in March, love Biarritz and around it, don't like Spain that much but have friends there, we will have our car with us so could end up anywhere.:roflmto: Bob.

 love Biarritz and around it, don't like Spain that much Bob.

Do you know, I could have written that. Don't know why. Happy in France, happy in Germany, delighted in Italy but something does not gel in Spain. Eating times, bullfighting, language, I don't know. It's quite irrational.

Biarritz. It's a class place and unlike out Victorian resorts left to rot they've taken good care of it.

The all you have to do is turn left, enjoy Carcassone, Nice, Monaco and then enjoy proper pasta in Ventimilia - Pasta e Basta - an onward to glorious lakes or beaches.
