The hospital is called Camping Technik which is inside the Parque de Campismo campsite at Armacão de Pera.

Nervous times as the "patient" has several minor complaints and new bits being ordered for it (roof air conditioner etc).

So far the processes have been dealt with very efficiently and in a friendly manner...

Fridge now working on gas again... new burner, jet and gas valve fitted.

Ordering an ElectroBloc plug in order to have 12 volt facility working.

Truma Combi heater now warming the van as well as providing hot water... new thermostat fitted.

About to wander over to pay current bill and order (and pay for) the air con unit.

It will be interesting to find out (in due course) how much of the repair bill the dealer who sold me the van will pay given I was promised a "guarantee for everything" for a year... yeah right... I'll believe that when I see it.

I think he's got a tray/pad on his knees so you can't see the upper part of his leg that makes it look weird.

Oh the irony of it...

Now free of the need for an EHU for my fridge I have travelled to Quarteira (naturally via the Supermarket of Shame) so I can visit a specialist phone/computer repair shop I know as well as checking things out for my friends' visit for Christmas and New Year.

Staying on the market place "aire" which is now controlled by a machine by the entrance barrier.

Used to be €3 but is now €6 per 24 hours with FREE electricity!

Camping Technik, run by Ingo and Jana Bruhns, situated in the campsite at Armacão de Pera, fixed my fridge which had stopped working on gas. (Actually James did the fixing.)

I was very pleased because it was obvious to me that James was trying to do it as inexpensively as possible.

First he cleaned the (very) old burner which I had done with a friend earlier. This didn't fix it so then he tried fitting a new burner (and jet) which they had in stock.

This helped the flame size but wasn't as good as it should have been... so he fitted a new electrically operated gas valve. Again this part was in stock.

This sorted the fridge (on gas).

He ordered a replacement plug into the ElectroBloc 99 to get my fridge working on 12 volts.

Next he investigated why the Truma Combi heater wasn't heating and soon identified a faulty temperature sensor. He fitted (plugged in) a new one (from stock) and all is now working.

My Webasto roof air conditioner is on order (and paid for) and might be in by some time in November.

James allowed me to watch him working and patiently answered all the questions I asked cheerfully. He explained lots of stuff which I didn't know as this van and it's equipment is so much more modern than any of the vans I have had before in the past fifty years...

I was very happy with all aspects of this company and recommend them unreservedly.

This has caught my attention now and there is something very odd about the position of the technician, he looks like he is in some kind of squat if you look at his left knee but then looking at his waist it doesn’t appear to meet his lower torso correctly it’s out of cink.
l get the pad but it doesn’t alter the fact that the legs are not attached to the body, visually that is.

How is the weather down there thinking of flying down for a few weeks before Christmas , shame but flying is far more cost effective than bringing the van
