Just had this pop up on my Google adverts, at first look it looks brilliant for a map thing that you can put your dimentions in and tells you where parks and stuff is.
Free at the moment don't know if you have to pay later but well worth a look.

Just had a quick look around it, it seems to have everything, you can put your own details in , got road delays, filling station, parking, straight over country boundary, quick, good maps, speed, and you can even download maps for offline, free, no adverts,
Integrates automatically with park4night.
Seems to good to be true, have a look see what you make of it. (y)

Another thing I have just found, you can put three different vehicle details in

Shame it’s not available for iPhone

I would seem from the comments that it runs in the background continuously and depletes the battery quite quickly.

Don't know how they can get it all in for free, they must be making something out of it somewhere.

Got a few truck driving colleagues using it. Supposedly alright but even like expensive sat navs it does have brain fade moments. No doubt it will be improved with time.

It would appear you can contact other lorry drivers that are using it in actual time.

I suppose one could use another satnav device for ones route and just use RoadLords to check for any obstructions/restrictions on that route, then switch it off.

This can be disabled.
Yeah I have just looked in my phone settings and it's not using any battery, suppose it does if you are actually on a route though.

Just been studying it a bit more and it is part of Google mapping so should stay free.

It looks like there is a standard (free at the moment) version and a premium version so you can have the mapping when off-line, similar to Park4Night, CamperContact apps etc.

◦ Premium offline truck map data from the whole Europe, including Turkey and Russia.
Offline truck maps save your internet costs (internet connection is required for routing)
Real-time traffic information service from more than 200 million cars world-wide in more than 30 areas including Europe, Russia, USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and many more
Searching among addresses, companies, gas stations and many more
Real-time map updates & social points of interests

It's not infallible ... I've just done a route putting my MH width as 2.3m and it's taken me via a 1.98 width restriction road and although it flags the restriction it's still going that way.

Looks very similar to waze, which is in turn part of Google now.

Thats why satnav should be guidance, not followed as gospel, it does still need the user to use a degree of intelligence, which might be asking too much of some.....

I can't see how to use with park4night - search bar only gives option of coordinates or address?

Is navigation only available in the paid for version?

To answer my own question - have to go from park 4night and then you get the option of going to the application ( and other navigation apps)

I suspected there was a tie in with Sygic when I looked through the Road Lords menus, and low and behold, Road Lords have the same business address as Sygic.

Is that good or bad , not had anything to do with sygic, thought it was payed only?

I use Sygic on and off and like all the others, it's good, but not infallible.

Sygic is a pay for nav app, but I would imagine that for the moment at least they have their reasons for it being free.

A lot of big named brands have their sub brands of the same company to capture a larger slice of the market rather than lose out to other brands selling cheaper than their premium lines, for instance, Continental Tyres also own and sell under the names of Uniroyal, Semperit, Barum, General Tire, Viking, Gislaved, Mabor, Matador and Sportiva.

OK: it's free.
I always check four places to see what a satnav does.

This avoids a 6'6" bridge in Darlingtun (sic). (y)
It avoids a 3T weight limit in Dereham. (y)

Unfortunately it takes my "2.3m" (actually 2.28m!) through a narrowish pair of bollards in Dereham because it thinks the limit is 7'6" (2.317m) whereas it is actually 6'6". (n)
Annoying and it would require a short reverse but not a big problem.

MUCH WORSE it also takes me through a narrow flint-lined 90degree bend in Fakenham. (n)
That is for exactly the same reason: it thinks 7'6" when it is 6'6". But it would require a longer reverse between brick-walled cottages with overhanging tiles.

Please can some of you try width restrictions that you know about?

Gordon

when you find a site you want to travel to if you use the nav button it offers choices of map apps waze google etc
I keep saying on here how to use park4night routing with your favourite maps app, but just don't seem to get through to people and they insist on blaming park4night.
