hello all,
We are in our early 50's, coming up to early retirement and hoping to buy our first campervan sometime next spring. We're thinking of getting one that's big enough to be comfy for trips, but small enough for us to get rid of the car. We don't know the first thing about them so any tips or advice would be more than welcome. We live in Leeds so if anybody knows of dealers that are reliable in our local area that would maybe be a good place for us to start having a look around. Looking forward to joining in the fun :thanks2:

Hi Susie, welcome to Fun, I honestly think one of the best starts you could make is joining Motorhome Fun, keep reading the forums getting idea's, ask questions as you go along, never be afraid to ask thats what the forum is all about, Enjoy your search.

I would not buy a new one let some one else take the hit for the biggest loss on the vehicle, and iron out any problems, also find one if you can with the extras already on, such as bike rack and pull out awning and solar panel. All these things add to a vans value. Good luck and happy hunting.:welcomefunster:

Hi Susie we live in Leeds too and bought our first camper van a month ago and are really enjoying it. We saw ours on ebay and as it was nowhere near the reserve price we contacted the seller in Sheffield, went to see it and bought it.There is a company in Leeds that does conversions and advertise on ebay don't know anything about them but maybe worth a look.

Ours is a Citroen Relay conversion and at just over 5 metres long just overhangs a car park space
