Putting a new tap in bathroom, has a microswitch. Pump runs whichever way I wire it up, can the pump run backwards? I'm all drained down so no water in tank to test.

Surely the switch is simply making a connection between the two wires? Hence I can't see why it makes a difference which way round it's connected.

I'd agree. Probably just switching the live or earth.

Its just a switch either way round will be OK.

Dump valve is open and tank drained down. Question answered see above

Just answer the question that wasn't really being asked ....... but might be in the future: the pump (in-tank type) will run in either direction without damage and will also pump water OK. However it pumps more water if it is running in the correct direction. External diaphragm pumps don't care and pump equally well whichever way round they're connected.
