Hi all
I’m looking for suggestions for a new radio unit for my Relay.
I want something with all the usual functions including DAB, Satnav and the reversing camera piped into it.
All suggestions welcome.

Is it single or double din?
I bought a cheap double din chinese job that does camera, sat nav, phone hands free , along with usb ,videos etc.

I'm awaiting a quote for a double din Kenwood unit with all the bells and whistles. But videos etc? I don't understand that bit Gus

Make sure it has Android Auto/Apple Car Play over sat nav. Any built in sat-nav is usually complete rubbish with expensive updates. I never use the sat nav on my car, I just use Google Maps on Android Auto. Much better routing, knows about closed roads, unexpected traffic etc. I also like the (optional) satellite imagery.

I've ended up with a Pioneer unit. It works with my steering wheel controls, Apple CarPlay for the satnav, DAB and Spotify etc. functions, phone calling through it, reversing camera piped into it and it has had the 10 mins cut off (when engine not running) removed. It sounds pretty good as well! Very Happy:giggle::giggle:

Which model did you get?

I'm thinking of replacing the Zenec unit in mine with one of the Sony XAV series. I previously had the AX100 and although slow, it was pretty reliable for Android Auto.

I've got the XAV-AX3005DB. It's generally OK, but slightly let down by the screen, which is not very bright and has a somewhat insensitive touchscreen. It all works, though, and I like having physical buttons for volume and the DAB reception is excellent with a reasonable external antenna (avoid the silly stick on foil types!) It boots up pretty quick.

The issues with the screen weren't bad enough to stop me buying a second one for a different vehicle.

Had to use a tatty old Firewire initially, it connects to a female socket in the glove box.

I think the AX3005 is pretty much a slightly modernised AX100 (which is getting long in the tooth). On the AX100, the screen wasn't particularly high res and the touch technology was resistive, so you had to poke it rather than swipe like you would with a capacitive screen on a phone. It does mean that the screen isn't shiny though, which is useful. I also liked that they hadn't stuffed it with features, so the user interface was nice and simple. Like you said, it was good enough, so I was considering getting another.

I had the Sony 3005 for about a week and couldn't live with the unresponsive screen, got it from halfords and took it back and exchanged it for a kenwood DMX7017 which I find much nicer to use

The only minor issue I've found is although the guidance volume is separate, the phone and music volume are the same. So because I generally have the music on loud because I struggle to hear it, when you get a call, the caller's voice is too loud. It's easily solved though with the steering wheel controls.

That one does look the part. It wasn't available when I got mine and no-one else offered another model within £150 at that time. Slightly more cash, but looks like it would be worth it.

I baulked at the cost initially but I am really made up with it now it's fitted . Still can't understand why the original one that I tried a software update couldn't be reformatted but hey ho!
