Since Sept ‘21.
I’ve just fitted a new submersible pump to a Bailey Advance 66-2. The pump runs fine when I press and hold the pump switch on the control panel. But not when I open any of the taps. I’ve a feeling there’s a simple explanation for this, but can’t think of it! (In case it’s significant, I’m testing it without filling the tank, with the pump in a small container of water within the tank.)

The van we had with a submersible pump had taps with micro switches so when you turned on the tap the water came out. Have you connected everything up as it was?

Yes, that’s how ours works too. The only thing I’ve done is remove the old pump and connect the new one.

With the pump in a container the panel is sensing that the tank is empty so the pump will not run automatically. It will run if the button is held in. Fill the tank to the first level and it should work ok.

Ah, thanks very much, that sounds promising. So the tank level sensor has to measure above empty - makes sense.
