We've been using the £1.99 option for the last few years!
It is £1.99 plus VAT though!

Wasn't recommending, just passing on the info, we have used this for a couple of years now, you can tether other things to it which you can't do with three, and it depends how many days you use it, it doesn't charge every day if you don't log on, and it works in more country's than three.

If it's unlimited data that's a big improvement - I think it was 50 Mb a day before for the same price.

I think the changes being made by O2 are a complete rip off. I can currently pay £1.66 a day for unlimited data now, calls are costing about 41p an hour to make or receive and texts cost 4p to send and free to receive.

According to the terms on the O2 site when the new rates come in, as soon as you send a text you will be charged £1.99, OK if you want to send a few or use your phone on the internet but it makes it a very expensive text or phone call compared to what the deal is now.

I was thinking the same. You can opt out of the bolt on but then you wouldnt be able to make use of the data. Handy though if your friends are on whatsapp or Viber.

Three is better but it only works in a limited number of countries. O2 covers places like Portugal and is reasonable value for occasional use. For a long stay then a local sim card is the way to go.

We don't use the iphone every day when abroad so the o2 deal suits us. Less hassle than getting something just for abroad.

Just remember to kept switched off or turn the various settings off so that downloads don't get triggered on the days you don't use it.

£1.99 on each day that we use it we make sure that we get good value!
