I'm guessing that RHD is a long way down the manufacturers' priority list.

I'd be happy with LHD, but aren't they more expensive in France?

Not my experience of German Mh's, I can find features on German mh's that I really struggle to find on UK motors. Too many of them are autos for me as I prefer a manual.
Have a look on Mobile.de, they do an English version or you can use Google translate.
Did most of my searching on there, and had to order an auto but could have had a manual off the shelf...

Be glad to help if I can do anything at this end
Rob

I'd have to say no they aren't. Our Burstner Lyseo 690 Limited bought new in October 2022 was £10k more expensive in the UK.

They never seem to put the prices up on the vans on forecourts or showrooms. Never had the courage to ask.

Same with cars, I think it's a cultural thing, the prices are there but in smaller fonts. In the UK they're in big fonts to get you in, in France you have to get close to the car and then they run out and get you. Also there's a lot less haggling, the sticker price is what you pay. We didn't get anything off the price of our van but we did get extras thrown in for free. I suppose a £1000 extra only costs then the £500 cost to them but £1000 off the price costs them £1000.

Don't own one yet
Just drove up through France and there are forecourts FULL of new vans everywhere!!
If you are a fan of French vans, buy here and drive away.
No long lead times.

That is true at the moment. However we waited over 16 months to get our hands on our new Pilote 696. The full forecourts have only been evident for the past few weeks. Up until then nothing new and very little second hand.

Hi, I have a Burstner 736 on order and it has just been delayed 3 months with no certainty that it will not be delayed again, LHD is fine for me, so would it be possible to let me have the details of the German Burstner dealer so I can contact them for a price and delivery, and also how did you get on importing the van back into the UK to register, what were the costs please?

We had a conversation with a dealer near Montpellier last year. He told us he could get as much stock as he wanted, as the manufacturers had reduced deliveries to the UK to avoid the hassle of extra paperwork. His forecourt was full and he had a storage compound with 50-60 new MHs at the rear. We saw similar stock levels all over France and Germany. Quite a contrast to the IK.

Thank you interesting, I also need to know what's involved to import the van back into the UK before I can progress further?

Over the last few years I have never seen any french dealer without dozens of new & used vehicles in stock .so many in factt that it is always commented upon?

How does he like the extra stock of RHD MHs? Do they sell well?

I understand that it is not so easy, since Brexit, to import a LHD motorhome. Complications with VAT and DVLA.

He had a couple of RHD. I neglected to go through his sales figures. It was a fleeting conversation. But then again there aren’t many RHD MHs in UK either.

Carthago now only supply RHD as an Auto but you can have a manual in LHD.
Just to be awkward I've ordered a LHD Auto.
