Just completed the installation of 2 x 11kg gasit cylinders and external fill point.
This is the third time I've installed a refillable system to my motorhomes.
No problems filling at Morrisons this morning, but I was a bit surprised to get 43.6 litres into the bottles, I thought it would've been 35 to 38 litres...hope that the 80% overfill valves are working!
Soapy water and sniff testing has confirmed all joints are sound.
Also checked that both cylinders are passing gas through the system into the van..had 2 cooker burners going for approx 5 minutes, then switched to 2nd cylinder...then more leak testing. All ok.

regards
Allen

As a rough rule of thumb 1 kg = 2 litre of gas, so up to 44 litres is okay.

It MIGHT be a plan to turn the fridge OFF when filling up in hot climes, just in case it chooses to start up during the fill.
But that is just MY opinion and could be blown to smithereens drekly.
Congrats on choosing a great system.
Mitch.

I knew about the 1Kg = 2 litres...so that would be 2 x 2x11kg = 44 litres, but then the 80% overfill valve would bring that down to under 40 litres.
I got 43.6 litres in...hence my question re is the valve working?

Ditto that.

I made that mistake in calculations in an earlier post. The 11 Kg / 22 Ltrs is the 80% shut off point. The bottles themselves are capable of holding more. I think it was @Minxy Girl that corrected me and maybe able to find the ref again.;)

Yes, the figures given for bottle are the maximum 'in use' capacity of 80% not the actual totally rammed full capacity.

Hi Laird of D..
I would suggest outside, as some garages don't like to see the locker open..
I put mine onto the skirt, at a point that is braced by a strut from inside the skirt to the chassis.
Good luck mate. The scariest bit is the 70mm hole you drill for the fill point.
IF you DID fit it in the door, the hose flexes every time the door is opened ! ! !
Enjoy the results.. Best thing gas-wise you will ever do ! ! !
Mitch.
