New Forest Sites info

Hi, I'm looking for a small(ish) site in the New Forest area for a short stay. Dog friendly with walks from the site and under a mile from a village/small town with a shop or two, please. Very hard to find these specs on either Caravan Club or Camping and Caravan club websites. Not worries about a loo or showers, just electrics. Thanks.

Setthorns is about a mile from Sway only one shop in the village.

Sethorns is the only CITF site with EHU, no toilets. Will be OK for dogs, plenty of walks including routes though to the back of the village. Sway village a 1.5-2mile distance has a small convenience store, has a great butchers, small cafe, rail station and couple of pubs - the larger pub does reasonable food but is a further walk on far side of the village. But none of the CITF sites are small(ish). Sethorns is one of the smaller ones at 235 pitches.

There are a few private sites. Long Meadows may work well a couple of miles outside Brockenhurst. Otherwise you should look at some of the more CL / CS type places but most tend to be around the outside of rather than within what I would call the main New Forest Centre.

Want to cram as much camping in as possible over the next few months... Visiting old haunts from when we were in the New Forest DA.... (I was CCJ leader back in the 70`s for a while with the CCC.... :Eeek::giggler: ..) So looking for a nice site in or near the forest so we can go back and...
