I'm planning a little tour around the New Forest this week. Apart from Setthorns, I'm looking for sites with electric but also have New Forest animals roaming around the site.

Any recommendations please.

You could try Longmeadow that’s really nice and really good walks straight from the pitch.
Deer wandering around your van in the evenings and you can walk into Brockenhurst.
Or Red Shoots also on the edge of the Forest plenty of wild life and a couple of pubs in walking distance.
Not sure about opening times?

Sethorns will be the only Camping in the Forest site open. Trouble is they allow too many "seasonal pitches" so it gets full yet nobody is actually there. Some pitches have EHU, but otherwise there are no toilets / showers so you need your own facilities. Only half of the Sethorns site would potentially have animals wandering through it.

CAMC has a couple of sites, no idea if they stay open all year. C&CC has no sites in the New Forest, although they advertise Verwood as New Forest, that is not in the main area and would be closed at this time of year. I suspect you may find a couple of CL/CS type sites around, and I think there is a Fun CL pub Sir Walter Tyrell, near Rufus Stone just off the A31.

The Forestry Commission sites are closed as far as I know.

Both the Green Dragon and Walter Tyrell pubs near J1 of the M27 will accommodate motorhomes. The Tyrell has EHU and is opposite open forest. From either of them you can easily get to Stoney Cross and then the deer sanctuary at Bolderwood, with a fair selection of donkeys, cattle and ponies in the area.
