New for old insurance for motorhome (1 Viewer)

Hi All
We are currently looking to renew our insurance
We are with caravan guard and have new for old policy.
I have phoned them today and after getting new valuation from SMC and taking into account accessories we have added the valuation stands at 114 replacement value .
They have increased the premium to £840.
I have rang comfort and for the same cover with new for old and unlimited windscreen cover with £75 excess on the screen .
The price quoted is £428.
Both won't cover ebikes or contents of safe.
We don't need Europe or UK cover as this is covered with fiat asist until 2020.
Obviously my choice would be Comfort.
Is their any insurance companies that covers ebikes and safe contents
When caravan guard rang me tonight and I told them I was thinking of moving they offered a £50 reduction after putting me on hold .
They then finished off by saying they can't explain the difference and for me to check the reviews before making my mind up.

Insurers appear to pull premiums out of a hat on a daily basis
On a much smaller scale my car insurer, Hastings direct, couldn't explain why my premium had risen £50 for no reason other than to say that was the price on the day.
I told them I had been to THEIR website as a new customer and the identical cover was infact cheaper than I paid last year so how could it be the "price on the day"
They could not answer but offered to reduce the £50 rise to a £20 rise..... They still couldn't understand why I told them not to renew.

Would be interested if their are any conditions when paying out on a new for old claim

Thought the only requirement was it had to be no more than two years old.

Yes and I think less than 15000 miles so we are okay.

NFU Mutual provide 2 years new for old from first date of registration. Value of motorhomes up to £75,000 does not affect premium. Phone them 01249 655221

Comfort insurance goes in 2000 mile blocks, over 10,000 classed as unlimited and the premium goes up quite a lot.
