Hi many people know that Peter that owned Johns Cross sadly died, he had a great life and was of "advanced years" His wife (Who is not! ) shut the business and marched the staff out to liquidise the assets.

Many Funsters couldn't understand why anyone would shut a business that had a great reputation and cash in the bank, and it was discussed on MHF. James is my Son and worked for the family business Van Bitz for years before joining Johns Cross, when he moved away from Somerset to follow his heart (he met our now Daughter in Law x) So here are a few pictures and as they say "watch this space"

I cant wish him good luck enough.
Since being a motorhomer I have experienced some of the worst customer service possible ( getting a webasto fixed at one place was unbelievable expensive and stressful) but also some high spots. Johns Cross was local and I regularly bought stuff there , service was faultless every single time.
You must be proud of your brood!

He has big shoes to walk in. I live in Northern Ireland and bought my first two Motorhomes from Johns Cross. They were a great dealership. All the best with the new venture.

All the best with the new venture we used to use John's Cross for servicing on our previous two Motorhomes.

After years of commuting backwards and forwards to Kates home town of Seaford from Van Bitz HQ Taunton, James left with his "bird" his dog "Blu" and his camper. Three gorgeous grandchildren later, James is his own boss and Kate owns a successful hair and beauty salon in Seaford and Mrs Van Bitz and I couldn't be prouder of them xxx

Good luck on the new venture.

Hopefully Miss 'X' is actually called Moneypenny, as he will need it!

Where is AJM going to be based ?
Kent/W Sussex border like Johns Cross ?

I see there is already a company called AJM in Bristol who service caravans and sell caravans and motorhomes.
If they are unconnected, I'd strongly recommend a change of name now, before the 'cease and desist' letter arrives from their lawyers.

The one in Bristol is AJM Leisure:

This is James' place:

Personally I think the 'AJM' name is too similar, given that both companies are in the same sector.
If I worked at the Bristol one I'd be in touch with the company lawyer.

It also has the potential to cause a problem with web site lookups.
the new AJM of Seaford is going to lose business to the AJM of Bristol even if the Seaford company uses it's full name rather than the abbreviation.

I'd recommend a change of trading name ASAP, before they officially launch.
(No need to change the limited company name)
