hi all our friend is in a state he has just purchased his first Bailey motorhome it is on a 2017 chassis and registered 2018, the log book has just come back saying it is 3500 all the paperwork says it's 3850 sent it back to DLVA and they have rejected it saying it's 3500 , what does he do now, sensible answers please

They are all 3850 unless a previous owner had it changed to 3500 if of coarse that is possible. If that is the case it would be useless until re plated to 3850.

Gee wizz whole 134 kg of payload and the van is probably at least 100 kg over base weight so as long as no passengers and nothing else loaded in the van it might be legal. Even at 3850 it will be tight to run legally.

Should have 484kg payload. The kerb weight is 3366kg but that includes awning,leasure battery,11kg gas bottle, solar panel,tele, 75kg for driver, 20lt water , electric lead.

Thanks all we have now found the certificate of compliance from alko which says it is 3850 appears that the really clever dealership registered it wrongly with DVLA and now a pain in the but to put it right

We travel light (ex caravaners) so plenty of spare capacity for us. But I can see how people get caught out, they carry loads of gear that never gets used.

I would have thought that was their responsibility to rectify. Good look to your friends , a great van and I am sure they will love it.

Isn’t this down to the Dealer to sort or did they ask for it to be registered as 3500 in the first place.
