Bailey are launching a brand new coachbuilt range for 2021.

The Bailey Adamo is to be Bailey's mid range option, will be built on the Ford Transit Mk VIII facelift chassis and be fitted with alloy wheels, 6 speed selectshift transmission and their 405nm 170bhp diesel engine as standard.

There will be no cab upgrade options as they will be fully loaded as standard which will include rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing headlights, cornering fog lamps, cruise control, heated windscreen & heated adjustable wing mirrors. Full U.K. specced galley, Combi 4 E warm air blower & water boiler & 100w solar

There will be three layouts, all 3500kg and all will have a garage with heating, 230v power socket, lighting & lashing points.

The Adamo 69-4 is a 4 berth with drop down bed above twin facing sofas.

75-4L, twin facing sofa's up front, extra long island bed.

75-4DL, has twin facing sofas, rear U shaped lounge & two drop down beds.

All of the beds will be larger... 10% wider & 15% longer... than those found in their Flagship Autograph range and Adamo means that Advance has now been dropped leaving Alliance to be Bailey's entry level offering.

Out & About Live are running a feature on the new line up.

Models will be launched 25th September.

"75-4DL, has twin facing sofas, rear U shaped lounge & two drop down beds"

whatever the manual says, a 7.5m van with two drop down beds and four on board will be mightily tricky to run at 3500kg...not a lot available for water or their kit.
good luck with that.

You're right, not a van I'd be looking to buy especially as at the moment you can't up plate the Transit chassis.

Bailey even suggest the van can sleep eight... bit too snug for me that!

For me they're a bit too loaded as standard rather than allowing the customer to choose what they wish to spend their cash on. Standard they are around £10k more expensive than the Transit based AT F-Line... and they still have plywood faced polystyrene floors unlike the AT's which have zero wood anywhere in their body construction.

A full fat F-Line is around £55k with all the options and awning etc, A bailey will be over £60k.

Bailey have a youtube launch showing them all tonight at around 1700. I'll probably post it on here afterward.

The differences I can see between these and Auto Trail's F Line (Tribute name is now history) is that the Bailey's don't come with or have the option for the 9' screen and dedicated MoHo sat nav & that the AT fords come with the silver screens & the Bailey has a curtain... Remis don't make the cassette blinds for the MkVIII facelift yet, the rain sensor gets in the way.

The AT's come with underfloor Whale heating & Hot water too which gives them a bit more space under the bench seating, spare wheel too, and the converting dinette, travel seats and drop down bed are £800 cost options... £1600 we saved on those paid for the gearbox.

Payload on our F-70 was 634kg pre air con & wind out awning.

I've added a bit more to the post... but so far none of the British Ford chassis based coachbuilds have the option to go heavier. The Roller Team Transits are the same and if i'm not mistaken it's not an option for Chausson or Benimar either.

Umm interesting, we’re looking at the Benimar and dealer said they can be up plated.
Will check with dealer
Thanks for info 👍

There's nothing in the literature either from Marquis or Benimar to suggest that the Tessoro comes with an up plating option

Just had dealer on phone.
No up plate for Ford chassis 🤔
However they do have every toy on them you would want so in fairness there’s nothing else to add. It then leaves 400 kg which is ok

I think they'll do very well its attractive to get all the stuff fitted by the factory saves any hassle with warranty issues also the engine and gearbox are supposed to be a good combination.

I can vouch for the 130 bhp engine and gearbox. The standard engine goes like a train so I'd imagine that the 170 bhp must be a monster

350kg & 400kg payloads. Pretty poor considering they've made such an effort to produce these new vans

Need at least 700 if you want to be comfortable but it does depend on what's fitted as standad. Possibly get away with 500 if things like awning, TV, oven, 2nd battery, spare wheel etc., are standard.
Personally I prefer a van with at least a 1000 kg payload for the two of us.

Think that's right.
Our Transit Mk8 is plated at 3550kg.
Chausson plated at 3500.kg
We have around 600kg payload .

I dont think the Brand Ambassadors have ever owned a MH and I know their paid to gush over the paid product but they were very cheesy. However Bailey are very good at marketing. Unfortunately I know a few people with floor damp issues on autographs.

Bailey still use plywood in the construction of both their motorhomes and caravans.

Hi Jenka when you say you know a few people with damp issues in the floor of Autographs the obvious reply is that most of us in the community could say the same of just about every make of Motorhome both British or European built I have an Autograph and have no such issue nor do any of the people i have met who also have Autographs. I have no doubt there are some out there with damp issues but no more than any other British or European brand as far as I am aware. I do note you have an Autograph yourself, have you had issues yourself I would be interested know as it adds to any info I have on the brand as a whole.

I do not claim that Bailey is perfect or any better than any other brand (though I do feel that it does give good value for its price point) I may have been lucky with my van but i have met many people who also feel equally lucky and do feel that comments like this just feed the obvious replies from the All things British is rubbish brigade.

I was merely stating a fact and I clearly am pro British as I have an autograph .The hab check as I was told only requires a damp test on the floor section and not the alutech. I also agree other continental manufacturers can have do have simpler issues. Good luck with your bailey.

Hi Jenka no worries, sorry if I sounded a bit curt, I never meant too come over that way I just sometimes find that there are a selection of posters (I do not include you in this group) on here who glorify in Brit bashing at every opportunity (some of them are actually well informed and very helpful in every other area of motorhoming but just have to have a dig at the British industry for some reason).

I think the reason why they only test the floor for damp is because there is no wood used in the wall or roof construction and the materials that are used would not give a usable reading or be affected by damp (that's a rough recall of what the workshop guy told me).
