There has been little enforcement in the UK, in France it's a different matter, they take things seriously over there.

Indeed they do. That was my point as all my touring has been abroad where I've seen far more police (national, municipal, civil etc.) than in U.K.

This was one small provincial police station, the France invested we downsized. Not cannot recruit new Police officers, in fact last week reduced a constables age to 17 .
I make no further comment

Evereux , great place , broke down there September last year , the van chose lake annecy this September
hope to be down there to pick it up shortly

Arrived at the tunnel, waiting to board.Was driving through a village earlier and a policeman in a lay_by waved me in,,noticed my no plate and waved me out again..Full tank of diesel at 1.16 a litre..Had it at 97 cents in Spain though. Back to reality soon BUSBY.
