New addition for the MoHo

I had a 11kg gaslow fitted but also kept a 6kg Calor bottle fitted as a back up.
Gives you more options.
I have thought about that. then i can get a regulator for my cadac so i can use the cadac at home as well as in the motorhome :)

That's a very good price... isn't that cheaper than the system as a DIY fit? You should be promoting the seller!

Ah Rob, he installed my media system a few years ago, good guy well recommended 👍

One of our lads lives over your way, so handy having a recommendation should we require any work done. (y)

All this depends on wether you travel in Europe, or in the winter. If so a Gaslow, gasit, or alugas system makes sense.
We have such a system comprising of 2 X 11 kg refillable cylinders.
If you change the van within say 3. years it probably doesn't make economic sense.

We had our gasglow system transferred to our new van when we changed it.

We had 2x11kg Gaslow system fitted with the van. Recently check when filling; 21 litres each, so 42 litres in total. Measured use over three days at Furness Abbey and pub stop over, 3 to 4 litres a day for heating in 7 degrees at night with the heating at 12 degrees, and three hours of oven/grill/hob. So theoretically we can last 10 to 14 days, less if it is colder. The other limitations are fresh water 3 days x 2 showers, plus washing up (130 litres) and two toilet cassettes capacity 2 x 4 days. So the gas will last the longest.

Gaslow, Calor, etc etc - all the cylinders are so damned heavy - its a pity Safefill haven't developed a refillable that can be plumbed in to an external filler. I have two Safefill bottles (10Kg and 7.5Kg) and they are great re-weight but can only be filled via the POL outlet connection.

I want to use a Safefill, but my gas locker isn't big enough to take one. Locker holds 2 x 6kg Calor at the moment. I don't think sites would appreciate me using a Safefill stood outside the van on a long pigtail. Ideas please?

From the manufacturers published details the Alugas are the lightest at 6.7kg empty for the 11kg cylinder which holds 21.7lt @ 80% fill. The comparable capacity Safefill is their large 10kg cylinder at 5kg empty and holds 19.5lt @ 80% fill. Doesn’t appear to be much in it either way but with Alugas having the advantage of being compatible with the external filler system?

Yes Alugas looks like a good bet and dimensions of the cylinder (11kg) similar to Safefill. If you can get one and install it yourself it’s a good option.

Have you thought about two Gaslow 6kgs cylinders, with exterior filling point and exterior BBQ point?

We do most of our cooking outside, so the BBQ point gets used a lot. (y)

Seems Alugas cylinders are in very short supply right now.

That not a bad price, best check where the fill is going because it’s probably easier for the fitter to fit it in the gas locker door but this isn’t the best place, due to pipe flex.
I know some will say it’s ok but Gaslow say it isn’t.

Indeedy, I’ve been collecting components for the installation when our MoHo eventually arrives. Some suppliers are better - in both expectation of delivery and price - than others, but even so it’s been a bit of an uphill struggle to get it all together, and we are ‘in the trade’ so to speak. PM me if I can offer any tips on where to try or best pricing I’ve found.

I trust the chap that's doing it and he is on the gaslow approve installer list so should know best practice

He did solar on two of our motorhomes ….he knows his onions and is very reasonable
