Is this a new app from ACSI? Costs between €0.99 and €17.99 euro per year.

Appears to include the circa 3,600 ACSI discount sites as well as the other circa 5,400 ACSI inspected sites that do not offer a discount.

And it is priced by specific country.

Has anybody used this app?

We've always used the standard discount sites app, in conjunction with the guidebooks.

PS It looks as though the new 2020 books are now available from ACSI.

I use the CampingCard app the blue/green one, don't see the point of the other one.

Help please on ACSI Membership
I have just had a look on the ACSI site, I see the 2020 book listing sites, along with the Blue/yellow membership card is 16.95 EU, do I need the ACSI ID Card @4.95EU also? Can I not just use my passport instead?
Is it worth joining via the CMC for a cheaper price? I grit my teeth as I ask this as we will be leaving the CMC in Feb2010.
Thanks for any views on this.

No you don't need the ACSI ID card unless you are unhappy about presenting your passport for ID.

I have always subscribed with ACSI directly and never had any issues or found that it is much cheaper else where.

As we tend to stay on campsites using them as bases to day cycle from, the subscription is usually paid for on about 2 days especially if you are in Spain, Italy or Switzerland!

When I had the ID card I found that some sites still wanted to see my passport, so never bought it again.

The ACSI ID card usually comes as a “press out” in the ACSI site guide so, no, you don’t need an extra one if you are buying the guide.

The "press-out" card in the book is your entitlement to ACSI rates at participating campsites. They've often retained it until we pay and leave.

The ID card is useful at "Inspected" sites but doesn't entitle you to ACSI discount. However not all sites seem to be fully au fait with the system as proferring either card sometimes got us the discount anyway. It's main benefit is as a "Camping Carnet" which also has third party insurance cover for campsites.

Although we're not great campsite fans we easily save the cost of ACSI membership over a year.

So has the ACSI app changed recently?
If so I might try it again, but if not I will go elsewhere as the app is horribly slow and clunky.

I have both but I've found in practice that most Spanish sites I've stopped at insist on taking a copy of the passport.

That's exactly what I wondered.

There appear to be a range of different ACSI apps available for 2020:

The one I currently run is terrible. They (ASCI) need to move with the times.

Can I reiterate again, the ID card does not guarantee that you don’t have to show your passport.
