I have read today that campsites in some parts of Germany are requiring guests (German) to present a negative test or proof of vaccination before being allowed on to the site! So we are lucky here in the UK..... so far!

Not a bad idea but I would have thought it would be more sensible for hotels to apply it rather than campsites where every one is in the open air.

How do you know hotels aren’t asking for the same?
The OP told us about campsites as we’re a motorhome forum and campsite information is useful whereas hotel information isn’t.

I am now told that this is a requirement throughout Germany, furthermore you have to have a negative test every 3 days whilst on the site!

But we are not even allowed in Germany at this time!
Never knew that. I live in France, being French , and not interested in going to Germany. So no interest in the present rules. I'm just saying where to find best info, wherever you need to go.

UK passport holders not allowed into Germany due to Indian variant.

I thought it was only people travelling from UK, not UK passport holders resident in an EU country.

Pedantic makes no difference to me. Anyway you still have to have the proofs whatever the passport when you get to a site, which was the whole point of the thread.

A friend has just returned from a funeral in Germany...if you want to go shopping you must visit a chemist and get a test , results in 20 minutes. Once in a shop you must show the negative result. One customer was refused service as their test had expired 50 minutes earlier ...the result is valid for 24 hrs only.. and everyone wears a mask , no mamby pamby exemptions there.

So far i haven't been asked for anything other than to pay my bill at the hotels, nothing else required that i've experienced.
