Just about to give it a go.
Hiya

Unfortunately we have had no use out of the motorhome so far, we were hoping to try and get away over the Christmas holiday but with all the snow, ice and more snow (we have had a heavy flurry this morning) it wasn't to be, sad as it sounds we have had a few meals in her even even though she has been parked on the drive, neighbours think we are bit odd but it makes us smile just being in the RV .

We have booked to go to Badmington Horse trial in the next couple of months so the rv is booked in for a service (oil, air, fuel and transmision filters plus a good look over) in the next week or so. Promised the kids a trip to blackpool in the very near future.

Just wondering if anybody could recommend where I could get a replacement Mattress obviously its going to be a funny size (sorry not measured it yet), needs to be memoryfoam due to Sarah's medical condition (one of the main reasons why we got the RV in the first place), googled memory foam and there are lots of company's that can do this but was just wondering if anybody out there had already gone down this route.

Not used them yet but got my service bits and bobs from Rodley Motors in Bradford Link Removed

All the best.

Jon

Hi Jon

we replaced our RV mattress with a standard size UK 5ft King .. so size shouldn't be a problem.

As we were full time we bought a good quality Link Removed which we were fortunate to find at half price in a sale at House of Frazer ..

:Smile:out with the tape measure this morning, many thanks for the info, the sleeping arrangements are a little unusual as it has two single beds (bit like Eric & Ernie) in the the middle section inbetween the kitchen and bathroom which is sited at the rear, and they are a small single at that.

Big help and has put me on the right track.

Many thanks.

What a coincidence,, we changed ours yesterday,, but went from a king size down to a 4ft 6" to give us a bit more room up the sides (No bedroom slide) makes all the difference.

Got it free delivery and £20-50p off normal half prices, delivery next day.. :thumb:

here = www.mattressman.co.uk

Got some good deals on at the moment, well worth a look,, and ours seems to be top quality,, no seconds.. :thumb:

And only had to trim 3" off each side of base with a jigsaw.

Hi,

Ikea are always worth checking, as some of their goods are first class I think their mattresses have a very good guarantee and the prices are very competitive

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/range/10376/10609/

Hi its also worth checking the base for the mattress, if its solid with no ventilation you may want to consider putting some slats down as, or making other provision to allow circulation of air under your new mattress as we here lots of reports on mold/rotting of mattresses due to lack of air circulation under them.

hope that helps

We had an ikea bed and mattress at home - top of the range but within about 3 years it was like waves. took it back and they said it was wear and tear! of course the ikea beds are strange sizes so you 'have' to buy thier mattresses. in the end we took the bed apart and cut the slats down to fit a normal mattres.
we do have an ikea mem foam one in the caravan which we had because it was easy to cut to size. took it out of the cover, cut it to the size we needed and made the cover fit it. Worked fine and we will do the same if we need to change the one in the RV (they are often too soft for our tastes)
