Is there an equivalent to Halfords type of store in France?

We're near Annecy, and want to get a socket set.. (because I left all three of mine at home )

Thanks.

Any firm with Brico at the front - Bricodepot - and similar sell that type of thing
Find them usually on retail parks on the outskirts of towns

Thanks for the replies, there's a couple of options on our way into Annecy.

I bought a Norauto-branded socket set recently, and it seems to be of reasonable quality.

Are you wanting one because you need to use it now, or just because you want one? If the latter I'd be tempted to wait otherwise you'll end up with 4 and sod's law will dictate you never use it! :D

Bear in mind that some countries have the tolerance in the bolt head and some in the spanner or socket. When I worked for a German company I had to buy all new tools to fit their fixings, followed other changes as machines came in from other countries. Allen keys being the worst of all.

I need them now for a bit of maintenance.

Being a time served mechanic I have a fairly comprehensive tool kit, unfortunately I neglected to pack what I would usually carry.

This is all I carry with me. It seems to cover everything I would want to do on the road.
