Can anyone recommend an aire about one hour south of Calais close to A25? Also best aires between there and Annecy about 200 miles apart - or "mustn't miss" places to visit on the way? Know France quite well but always nice to know what others recommend.

Aire at Catillon-sur-Sambre is on your route but its over two hours away. In two parts - the nice part with 4/5 spaces on the canal with electricity and the large overflow carpark on the other side of the road.
There is not much in between:Sad:

This might be a silly question - but why are you using the A25 to get to Annecy?

aire near Calais

Thanks Roryboys dad. You are right of course. Didn't have my glasses on. We'll be heading towards Reims. Have stayed on motorway aires before with no bother - tuck in between lorries! But I know that's not really recommended.
