Since 2021...
Get your application in quickly - online preferably. I did mine in January, I was kept informed of progress by text, and new passport issued in 3 weeks!

20% of passport offices employees still work from home, so for many of these; strike days will be hard to differentiate from working days
That’s unfair Jim, polls suggest that people that WFH are more productive, customer centric, gender and pronoun aware.

The pollsters who used a 100 people that WFH as a ‘source’ said, this poll is welcomed as it proves WFH is beneficial, obviously as we at “WokeryPoll” are also WFH the data took a lot longer than normal to collate.

Because of this we had the usual childcare issues, days out, shopping, box sets, dog walking and Costa runs to contend with and that was just us lol they said (‘They‘ being the non binary human adult put forward to speak to the Press using ‘it’s’ preferred pronoun)

Why the hell are they still WFH?

Our doctor surgery still has a telephone announcement that they are still working under covid conditions and working differently. Less face to face, more telephone and video consultations.
Almost everyone has gone back to work. Let’s hope they have some logging software on their computers to track their activity.

Five weeks of strikes at a time many people are renewing their passports ready for their well-earned summer holidays. Cynical opportunism or what🤬?

2% pay increase wonder why they are not grateful. :rolleyes:
Yes, maybe a 2% pay increase; plus a jump up the pay scale ladder each year (another 2% or more?). During my Civil Service stint I was getting two pay increases a year; I averaged a £1000 pay rise per year over 18 years 🤑. I was going to complain, but never got round to it 😇.

Well i call that efficient, 9pm at night instead of 11am next day. so long as contact with clients is not necessary what does it matter what time they work so log as they put the required hours in.

How did you get through to the surgery?
You have to join a queue at 8.30 and gamble that you get an appointment before they go each day. That is only an appt to get a telephone call and they will then ask you to go to the surgery if they think it is required. There may be some validity in that sort of triage but it is a lottery and often you get kicked out of the queue anyway.

My point is that they are still blaming covid as are those who will not return to their offices.

Thought you worked from home, Jim . :ROFLMAO:
Hi. " Thought ? " Being the operative word.....
Stayed at Jasmin camping.. A pleasant experience, there was a Lady there, cutting the grass on site.........with HAND SHEARS,fetching water from a well with two buckets on a Yoke for the people staying there,to say she was being " Run Ragged " would be an understatement. Whereas the " Kapitan " ( Jim ?") was of on a jaunt. Just saying.....like you do...... (....worked from home. :ROFLMAO: )
Tea Bag.
PS. Happy Saint Patricks day to you all.

WFH might not suit everyone, but I've been happily running my IT projects from my spare room for 3 years now. The company is happy that we are all working as hard as when we were in the office. It might not suit everyone, but it works for us. And if I want to send an email at 9 pm, I can. I don't expect anyone to read it until the next day - but I might sleep better once it has been sent. Different people can work in different ways, and we do not all need the threat of someone watching us to make sure that we get the job done.

I don’t see it in any of my posts although this may help as their increases are decided independently .

You rise at say 8.00am and complete your day doing whatever to start work in the evening at 8.00pm and are both alert and efficient ,l doubt it. They are so efficient and yet months behind.

There are 650 MPs sitting in parliament and their wage increase is causing enormous inflation.:rofl::rofl:
Merely quoting our local mp, with a small change of worker.

Strikes are bloody annoying, but without the right of people to take industrial action then we might end up going back to days where you get 2 weeks holiday a year, or as happened to my mother half the wage of the man standing next to her. These things changed due to industrial actions, striking due to being forced to into your place of work that's plain wrong. 2% pay rise at this time is in my opinion just plain wrong and passports should be increased in price to cover the cost of a pay rise.
