Chausson Suite Maxi
Very new to all this...

It looks like I might need a new clutch on our Chausson Suite Maxi - Fiat Ducato base.

Can anyone recommend a good garage in or around South Manchester? I've been ringing around and have been struggling to find somewhere that will take it in.

I'm hoping that someone might have a recommendation?

Google search for commercial vehicle repairs
There must be plenty in the area 👍

Fiat Professional dealerships should all have the physical capacity to deal with a motorhome. It'll at least give you a benchmark price and booking timescale.

M&T transmissions in Bradway, Sheffield if that is local enough.

We use them for our Fiat vans at work.

Do my MOT's and servicing ,good service.
I tried pinnacle, all they did was mess me around and then tell me that it would be £1,500 - 1,600!

Not at all impressed with that approach.

You seem to have had a different experience to me.

Think the son has took over running it and his father has taken a back seat and i know the girl who worked on reception has walked out so maybe a problem there now . Tony at Sandy lane service station used them for mot's before he made the bays bigger so he used to take my previous vans there and i have done so myself for the past 6 years and had a couple of services (not cheap ) after my 3 year deal with spinney finished and the service was ok. On saying that my granddaughters husband works for Peugeot Stockport on wellington rd and they do MOT's so he is doing it this year and servicing it but they are a main dealer but you could try them.

Thanks all.

After a fair bit of ringing around I have booked it in with Thameside Transmissions, seemed accommodating and are able to do the job at my convenience. It also works for me in terms of drop-off and collection - getting back to work etc.

I will report back.

Just to report back. Big thumbs up to Thamside Transmissions. I turned up handed it over and the job got done in the timeframe promised (the following afternoon). Everything is running fine and there is a 12 mth warranty on the clutch.

I don't know what the final cost was, as this was a warranty repair that was sorted directly. But I would say if anyone needs work doing in that part of Greater Manchester it could be worth giving them a ring.

Well done! I'm having a new clutch and flywheel being done by Arthurs in Wrexham. The agreed price is nearly £3,000 but it's an engine out job on the 3.0ltr. Hope to get the van back next week maybe in time for Lincoln?

The van is 15 years old (Bought new in 2008) and has 110K miles on it many of which towing 2,000kg trailer. It was just beginning to slip occasionally under duress, so I thought it wise to bite the bullet. I didn't want it to fail in the Pyrenees this winter.
