I've never been to one of these shows at all but have just booked tickets for the Wednesday 23rd and can't decide wether to just take the car up and back on the day (parking I believe is included) or take the van up the night before. My only worry would be the parking of the van at the nec? As I say never been so don't really know what to expect?

Strictly enforced no overnight parking allowed at NEC but plenty of space for motorhome parking during the day. Sure others can suggest some overnight parking or campsite options in the area as often discussed on here.

There is a pub east of the NEC that allows you to stay, or a bit of dead end road south of that where you can park. Pm me for more details if that sounds useful :)

We have used Somers Wood near Meriden when visiting the NEC.
A couple of pubs and a very good chippy in Meriden.

We have also overnighted in the car park at Shustoke Reservoir a couple of times.

We have used Somerswood site and had a taxi to the show, asking the driver to pick us up at an allotted time for the return journey. Usually these sites close to NEC, get booked up quite early. I think Chapel Lane C&MC may already be fully booked. Parking at the show is ok for a MH.

I’ve got a booking for chapel lane and we can’t attend the show . PM me if you want to attend and I will let you know when I will cancel the booking .

Somerswood looks nice though I see they are cheeky enough to charge extra on the week of the motorhome show! £28 for one night.

I'll keep it as an option though as I wont get near until nearly dark and then up and off to the show next morning and then home same day I won't have a lot of time to avail myself of the facities :-(

On checking out the reservoir it appears its a no go as overnightings been stopped there https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/markerMobile.php?id=24785

I can see the benefit of the taxi but we'll be leaving after seeing the show, so loose plan is stay somewhere night before then park at the show to then leave from there.
