We booked on Searles at Hunstanton for three nights this weekend and it’s around three quarters full, I guess not like this with the beast from the east at the same time last year.
Some folk in shorts and short sleeves but don’t think my trossachs would stand that :)
Looks like they quickly adjusted their site fees for the weekend , it cost £80 for three nights...... in February..... but we wanted serviced pitches , you takes your choice
Not a place for TFLs ;)

I’m not totally surprised that you found the site busy.

There are no enough sites staying open for the winter. As motorhomes increase in numbers more of us are looking for somewhere to go. Caravans don’t seem to like cold weather.

Those sites that are open tend to be busy in our area.

I think this year and next will see site fees going up as more and more vans compete for a fixed number of sites. I also think more councils will clamp down on free camping as the more "unsociable" element cause problems.
The times they are achangin, as Bob Dylan would say

Grouse and Claret in the Peak District is full,£25 night at the weekend :Eeek: ,but we're only paying £15 as we made a group booking :)

Looks about 50/50 mhomes/ caravans.
Many like us I guess, as soon as we saw the forecast for the week we booked.

Yes, I understand that Britain is bathing in nice weather this weekend.

We, on the other hand, are enjoying brilliant blue skies and daytime temperatures of -2C in Krakow! In the breeze it feels like -4C.

Still, a great winter break!(y)

And a great hotel, beer and food.

We were at Wells Touring Park in Somerset last weekend. They have 60 hardstanding pitches and were fully booked.
I can thoroughly recommend this adults only site.

We are at the C&CC site at Devizes next week and I've heard it's now full. But we have a booking. :)

It was hard to find a site in the Peak with spaces when I tried on Friday morning. In the end we got a space at Mow Cop. It’s full now. Nice site too.

it is the school holidays !!!!

as for searles, we have been going for years and make full use of their special offer weeks for £10 a night pitches but its outside most peoples usual season, never been there in the summer

Chichester Caravan Site down the road from me is very busy...Probably 2/3 full...

Thanks for the reminder ....... I remembered to book for Easter. Fish and Anchor at Uffenham near to Evesham.

I'm enjoying my first outing of the year, getting re-aquainted with my humble Hymer after drooling over the Carthgo and le voygers at the NEC yesterday.
I'm at my favourite FLT location though drinking beer and watching rugby while the Mrs watches dancing on Ice or summat at home (y)
Happy days, except for the score :(

Searles is an 11 month site, it shuts around 5th of January each year for a month.

We is full..

3 Funsters and 2 foreigners.... (Although 1 of the Foreigners have Fun stickers in their windscreen.)...... Must find out who the illusive pair are.. :)

And turned customers away....

We spent Thur 14 and Fri 15 at Skegness Sands: 3 spare pitches on Thur, 1 spare pitch on Fri (but we had to move).
Nothing on Sat.

We rang Jasmin Camping but never got a reply so assumed the owners were away enjoying the sunshine!

We squeezed into a corner of a CCC (BCC East Riding) meet, receiving a very friendly welcome.

Driftwood at Kilnsea near Spurn Head granted us their last free pitch and I saw CMC Bridlington had very limited space for Wed.

However, I woke up on Mon with a possible retinal detachment, so zoomed home with the navigator calling out speeds from the satnav and watching for converging traffic at roundabouts.
Straight off to A&E followed by laser surgery by 9.30am Tue: fingers crossed!

Shoot me down if you like Larry but you have a lovely seafront home in a beautiful part of the country with lovely beaches just across the road from your home and the Norfolk boards up the road. It is February Larry, why travel and pay good money for a caravan site:)...:imoutahere:

Hi Buttons I know what you’re saying but we always enjoy a few days away in the motorhome not looking for the next job to do , it was most enjoyable in Hunstanton and it’s now great to be home.

The price of camp sites in England are outrageous, We're in morocco £7a night inc electric, swimming pool, showers etc ,
We need more fork lift truckers to make camp site owners stop ripping people off

I agree expensive but market forces dictate with many campsites close to full in Feb doesn’t bode well for summer.
Too many campers I guess.

To be fair I wonder what their rates bill is or what minimum wages are there without all the H&S and insurance etc.

Just booked Castleton CMC, for £10.25/nt... not too outrageous I'd have thought... fully booked at the weekend.

Booked on a fully serviced pitch this weekend in Seahouses only £10pn.
Okay on offer but only £22 full price.
Love indep sites.
Prices much more realistic.
