Is it only possible to get get nature pure replacement cartridges direct from the manufacturers. The purifier was fitted when i got the van and I suspect the cartridge needs replacing as the water pressure from the cold tap is a bit weak. Is it worth the £60 cost of new cartridge !!!

As far as I know they are only available from Nature Pure. Yes they are expensive, but they do a fine job. I know £60 will buy a lot of bottled water but think of all that humping. I would never go back to bottled water, the convenience of turning a tap and knowing the water quality is good outweighs the cost for me.

Knowing the water through your Nature Pure is even more 'pure' than most of the bottled stuff you hump back from the supermarket makes it well worth the cash. At shows you can get them cheaper and he will often give Funsters discount if you ask (y)

Bear in mind the flow rate from the filter is considably lower than from the regular tap.

The filter medium is so fine it takes a fair bit of pressure to force water through it.

If it has got noticably slower over time then yes, time to replace

I have only had the van since April. The cold water has always been slower coming thro than when i turn to the hot position so I don't have anything to compare with really. I don't think its got any worse since I 've had the van so maybe I will stick with it a bit longer to see how things go. For the few occasions when I wanted water to drink I have always carried a bottle or two. Any other time I use it from the tank as it gets boiled anyway. Thanks for your comments.

Am I reading this correctly. I have a separate tap connected to the filter. If your filter does not have a dedicated tap, then you are filtering all the water that comes out of the cold tap. This is not necessary.

Hi snowbird I only have one tap for hot or cold. Don't know how I could change that. Or where I could locate a separate tap. Where is yours ? Have added photos of tap and the cupboard under sink where filter is located.

Harald will give you filter @ £50 at shows. Buying from third parties will be dearer.

Mine has always been on the toilet sink but I upgraded to the QC system as the filter medium is different technology and water pressure is not impaired

Took ours out of the Burstner before we sold it but it's in the garage somewhere. The last filter only lasted a few months so too expensive as far as I'm concerned.

My advice Hilary would be to buy a 12mm barbed through connector and remove the filter from the kitchen sink and refit on the toilet basin.

Hi, you have the old type filter, but that should make little difference. The problem with having it connected to the vans cold tap is that you are filtering all the water that comes out of the cold tap, including any water used for washing up. The best solution is to fit a separate tap, just for drinking water. This way a filter should last between 1 and 2 years.

If the filter only lasted a few months your tank must be contaminated.

i use a different filter system but like snowy it has its own tap.
like he says many even filter the shower and toilet water . i dont filter water being boiled just keep it for straight drinking water normally . might use it for other things if i was in africa and had to fill out of a river etc .

The other option is to just use the through joiner I posted and not refit the filter unit at all. Harald gave me £50 for my old housing as spares are not available and he often can sell them on.

Exactly what i did as there was no suitable position near the kitchen sink.

As already said, you are filtering every drop of cold water you use no matter what that use is......washing up, boiling a kettle, watering the dog etc....none of which need filtered water but will clog the filter much quicker.

From memory using regular tap water in your tank the filter should be good for at least two years or 2000ltrs before the flow rate starts to decrease.

If using these connectors on semi rigid plastic pipe you need to hold the end of the pipe in very hot/boiling water for a few minutes to soften the pipe or it will be a hell of a job to push the connector in and get a good seal.

Hi Mike, we use our filters a lot, they filter every bit of water in the kitchen. The filters last us around 2 years. (y)

Are any of you guys going to southport was thinking mabe you could give verdict on whether the flow is normal for the filter or if you think its clogged up. Would be willing to ply you with tea or coffee/biscuits whilst you test it :)
